  1. Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out; the decals made a huge difference.
  2. My car has a small trunk and only 2 doors, so finding a way to transport my gear was an unexpected challenge. I spent weeks trying out different crates (including a couple mentioned in this thread), but none worked with my specific, inconvenient situation. So I figured if a single crate wouldn't work, maybe I'd have better luck with a modular system. After testing a few brands and making use of long-dormant Tetris skills, I ended up finding a way to fit everything into 2 Milwaukee Packout crates: The top crate has the chest/back/tank, helmet, balaclava, belt/detonator, and blaster. The bottom crate has the boots, knee/forearm/bicep armor, and all soft parts (flightsuit, vest, cod, bund & pouches), plus a tray for repair supplies and other stuff. Was it simple? Nope. Was it cheap? Nope. Does it work? Yep! I'm calling it a win. Although I was a bit jealous to find out that outside the US, the Packout crates are all black. That would've looked cool.
  3. Yeah I came across his files while looking for options, so I'll probably make them when I get access to a 3D printer again. For now, the boxes will be my quick and dirty solution.
  4. I couldn't find a reputable place to get a 3D printed rifle either. There are a few sellers on Etsy but I can't vouch for any of them. I almost bought from StevensLaserstudio (mentioned by JohnReillis a few posts up), but went with ImperialArms because it was pre-assembled. And I paid for my laziness, lol. His descriptions and sample photos are misleading and do not represent what you get. Wish I could be of more help, but all I can do is recommend who NOT to buy from.
  5. I've been looking for a simple way to make my pouches more functional. I tried hollowing out some foam inserts, and the pouches looked great empty... but the weight of my phone, keys, wallet, etc made the bottom sag unevenly. After searching around a bit, I found these small boxes . They fit perfectly inside the pouches, and for those who don't want hard edges, there's easily enough room to wrap the boxes in fabric or foam so the pouches will still look and feel soft. I'm probably gonna cut one side open so I don't have to take the boxes out every time I need access.
  6. It's just lightly-sanded black filament, from what I can tell. Looks like this'll end up being a DIY project after all... Thanks for the pics and all the great info!
  7. Thanks for the comparison shot! Very helpful. Here's mine from the same angle: Scale looks okay, maybe a tiny bit slimmer. Definitely not as smooth and finished as yours, but at least I can do something about that. Full length shot, with bonus Loth-cat:
  8. Okay, I'm home now and finally assembled my rifle. Overall it's decent. The sanding & finish isn't as smooth as I was expecting for a "Built & Finished" order, and I see a few spots that were missed entirely. But the weathering and the modularity is nice. I still can't say with 100% certainty if the scale is correct or not. I look at one example and think mine looks the same, then I look at another and second-guess myself. So I took a couple pics of the rifle next to a BlasterWorks EC-17 for scale. If someone who has a correct-sized rifle can compare, we can put this to rest and I can decide if I'm going to get this into a Troop-worthy state or start looking for a new rifle and chalk this up as a lesson learned. Even if it IS the correct scale, I wouldn't recommend this seller without some kind of guaranteed delivery time.
  9. Shockingly, my order is finally finished and on its way to me, almost 24 weeks later. I'm out of town and won't be able to open it up until next week, but I'll try to figure out if it's the correct size or still using the scaled-down printing.
  10. Yeah, I should've joined here MUCH sooner so I could've done more research before ordering. I've seen the other posts about the quality and small size, so I'm lowering my expectations. At this point, all I can really do is keep waiting and asking for updates. Lesson learned!
  11. If anyone here is considering ImperialArms3D.com for their DLT-19x, I’d advise you to look elsewhere. I placed my order for a Built & Finished rifle on March 11, with an expected completion in 6-8 weeks. Didn’t get a single update by May 30 (12 weeks later), so I sent an email to ask about my order. No reply. Sent a live chat on his site and finally got a reply, apologizing for the delay. He said his shop was still recovering from the hurricanes last year, but my order would ship in a few weeks. 9 more weeks go by. On August 5 I emailed again and got a similar response: “My apologies for the delay in responding. I had to shut down for a bit to get my shop back up on its foundation due to the hurricanes last year. I should have your order ready in the next couple weeks though. I will message you when it ships.” It’s now been 22 weeks since I placed my order. When (or if) I get it, I’ll update here. But even if the quality is second-to-none, I don’t think I can recommend this place unless people are very, VERY patient.
