Biker Belt Help
EC-17 Holdout Blaster replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Im not quite sure of the material, but it is the set from studio creations, so the material for the belt that came with that is what I am using, now that I think of it, I might just retry again, this time with using a lighter or something, thanks that its a good idea. -
Hi, so while putting the final few pieces of my scout together, I have had some trouble with the belt, I was wondering, after putting in the rivet by itself, could I just put velcro on the inside of the belt to connect my webbing back piece to, because every time I want to put my rivet in, it rips my material and ends up falling out, I just want to put the rivet in by itself, and then Velcro on the inside, holding up the appearance that there is a rivet, but really making much more adjustable, is this acceptable to the CRL or not? Thanks

So I am almost done with the basics for my scout, and after finishing the helmet, I am wondering what kind of setup I should have for the inside, right now I am using foam, but it is not super stable, and I know some use construction helmet rigs on the inside, but I am wondering how that will fit with a fan for airflow and/or a microphone for a speaker setup.

Armor Party ST6 (Southern California) 02-19-22
EC-17 Holdout Blaster replied to MrPoopie's topic in Announcements
More virtual meetings would be great for me at least, I think it’s a good idea for people still working on armor, like myself, but it would have to be more people than just me who want it as well -
Questions for studio creations armor
EC-17 Holdout Blaster replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Alright, thanks, if those are the only major differences in hard parts, I think I will change over to a Mandalorian scout after this, as I love the weathering that is done on it. -
Questions for studio creations armor

Another question, in terms of converting ROTJ scout armor (not considering soft goods) to mandalorian scout armor, are there any extreme differences, for example, are the belts identical excepting the weathering, because the CRL says that the belt fastener is attached with 1 silver rivet on the side of the plastic of the belt, whereas for the ROTJ states There are only two visible 1/8th rivets on the belt: one on each side toward the back to connect the webbing closure material to the plastic belt, this sounds the same to me, but also seems like only one rivet might be used for the mando scout? -

Now I am working on the belt, I am wondering how to get the rivet through the webbing material, also due to the fact that the studio creations instructions are off, I accidentally drilled two holes where the webbing connects to the belt, will probably eventually order a replacement, but I am just wondering on how to even get the rivet through the webbing for now. -

Finally finished looking through terry's thread, I've been looking at it as I go, does anyone have any more detailed threads on strapping between chest, back and shoulders, as pandatroopers thread is not the greatest for that, and the instructions that SC sends are not the most explanatory. -

Ok I’ll try that, just so I know because this was my grandmas machine and I’m still a little unsure how to do it, how would I do that? -

Anyone with experience sewing know why my bobbin thread is doing this on the underside of my practice material, it looks pretty good on the top, but it is such a mess on the bottom and I am unsure of how to fix. -

I have just taken some basic sizing pics of my armor by just taping the tops together, I want to ask your recommendations on them but I am unsure how to shrink my photos down to the limit, any suggestions? -

An additional question that I had was one for soft parts, I am not too proficient in sewing and do not own a machine, I bought the hard parts for the armor thinking I could make substitute with just the chest plate and arms for Halloween, making sure to keep it slow, because I will hopefully not finish in time, and I was thinking of buying the soft parts kit from imperial boots, but am unsure if I should wait until I have stopped growing, or if I should not even start on my armor until i have the soft parts done so I can have proper fitting, what do you guys think, are there any clothes that would be close enough to an actual jumpsuit that would make fitting the armor right, or should I just wait? -

Thanks so much, glad I didn't think to buy a heat gun or anything, I will just submit for approval when I turn 18 and see what I need to do from there, and thanks for the recommendations for pandatroopers build, i was actually checking it out a few days ago after he was on the armor party podcast, so I will just go through that in depth! -
Today is the day, my armor finally arrived from studio creations! I’m super exited to get the build started but the instructions on the pad are somewhat vague, does anyone have any really in depth build threads, videos, or other information that would make it easier? I am also wondering what I should do for fitting the armor to myself as I do not have a heat gun and I am of a taller and slimmer build than the majority of adults (I’m 17). Any advice is appreciated!

First Bucket Ever Completed!

Yeah I think that’s just the lighting, it looks about the same when I look at it. -
I just recently completed my first bucket, and I am pretty happy with it. And although there are a few things that will need adjusting, I am exited to purchase and work on the rest of a ROTJ uniform!

I bought a helmet kit off moncals prop shop some time ago, in order to ascertain if I had wanted to work on a full armor, set, these are some sparse pictures of my work, and you can see the full process through this link, and I just wanted to show my progress, for the bolts, no they do not have a concave center, which is unfortunate, but I will probably end up buying proper ones from the places that advertise them on this site, and as for the last photo, the respirator is screwed in, but I realize that it is a little bit off, and will probably either replace the screw with glue or get a bigger screw that is perfectly centered, any advice or questions are welcome.
