  1. Welp. I just hit submit. $670, later. Ordered my armor. Kinda nerve-racking paying that much online. Eek. Now waiting for an email from them. https://studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/bike_armorforsale.html
  2. Hopefully ordering the Studio creations armor by end of the month. So it'll all come together.
  3. Thanks for the input. I measured another local scouts bund and made mine the same size. Also for level 2. The boxes much appear to attach to top of bund. If short I'll just make another one. But based on my height. I think it'll be ok. 8-10" is average bund size. Line is 9"
  4. Sounds good. Will be placing my order with them then. Also close by as Im in Florida.
  5. I am going to be ordering my armor soon. Out of all the vendors, Studio creations is the only one with a buy it now option. All others have you contact them first for pricing. Just a little scared to pay $670 online. Most expensive online purchase made and not on Amazon.com with a guarntee. Is this the right sight? Any others ordered just fine? https://studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/forsale_bike_trimmedarmorwithhelmetkit.html

  7. I used this thread with a set of Dickies coverall and it worked fine. DONT cut suede until you have presized the patches with scrap fabric first. Took me several tries to get where i was happy with mine.
  8. I had issue finding the Kingshow boots listed in my size. Ultimately found these. Slightly higher up the ankle, but same exact otherwise. https://www.amazon.com/Mens-Water-Resistant-Boots-Wheat/dp/B017THAVIM/ref=sr_1_1?crid=35M9M3NKGI0SD&dchild=1&keywords=kingshow+boots+for+men&qid=1628707897&sprefix=kingshow%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-1
  9. Welcome to the Scouts! Good luck with your build. I found lots of success using the forums to build my soft parts. Great tutorials are available for boots and boxes. I figured the Bund out on my own by measuring a local scouts. The Codpiece design came from Arandunff. But size differs based on height and shape. Boots: This tutorial worked great for me with no issues. Followed it fairly easily. I used marine Vinyl from Joanns fabric. https://www.joann.com/marine-vinyl/4789087.html which you can probably have shipped to you. 1 yrd is more than enough. Vest: I used the tutorial here, but made the entire vest out of black duck cloth using the Tshirt pattern Cumberbund/ codpiece: Got my designs from here. Size and shape may vary. I used plain cotton fabric for now, May try to find the mercerized/polished cotton at a later date. Most of my local fabric stores say they don't carry it. Undersuit mods: I had a tough time getting the size/shape of my riding patches done. it took about 4 renditions with scrap fabric before i cut my sued. Sourced the suede from a local Tandy store but here is the link. https://tandyleather.com/products/pigskin-suede-split-chrome-free?_pos=3&_sid=b12b2db85&_ss=r
  10. Well. Well. Well. All the soft parts I can make are DONE! Just gloves to order. Off to armor next. Hopeful to order this week. Or next month.
  11. Quietly adds to Christmas wish list!
  12. I do have all tools needed. But no materials. If it's more like $100, I could likely get a local 3d print for similar and would be lighter. I do like the idea of building myself though. Thanks for the info guys.

  14. I see lots of resin/ 3D print options out there but was wondering if this would be approvable? It is wood and PVC pipe. Could build myself for about $30.
  15. I am working on my soft BBB now. (Boxes, Bund, and Boots) No armor yet. Hopefully ordering this week from Studio Creations. Using tutorials/ patterns found on the forum i have had great success with my BBB this past few weeks. Boxes are complete, Boots are nearly done, and the Bund is measured and cut ready to sew. Hopeful to finish all soft parts this next week, then off to the real BBB order. Boots: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19708-biker-scout-boots-tutorial/ Boxes: I cut out foam board to fill the boxes to stay taught.
  16. Getting started on my boots using this tutorial. I do have question. I see the few photos posted here but not Cheezwoopy's final product. Question about the sole cut outs. Most of the cut outs shows look to be deeper and a single cut. Where as in the scoutopedia the original shoes have 2 sections cut into the sole [ ] [ ] all the way around with a little bar uncut between them. Are both ways acceptable for Lancer or does it have to be exact from the scoutopedia? Is there a template available?
  17. I mean if you can't smile while making your Star Wars a reality. You have no business making a costume!!
  18. Spent over a week battling with my vest. Several assumptions led me wrong. But finally worked out the kinks. Flak vest is complete minus adjusting sleeve length to match the shoulder bells. Also finished the codpiece. Next will make boxes, bund, and boots! Parts/material already ordered. Should be able to finish my soft parts by end of summer.
  19. They do have the taller boot of the 1366 in my size. Will get those instead. https://www.amazon.com/Mens-Water-Resistant-Boots-Wheat/dp/B08BJB37K2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1EL4NS9UWN5NO&dchild=1&keywords=kingshow%2Bboots%2Bfor%2Bmen&qid=1625691349&sprefix=kingshow%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-1&th=1
  20. Thanks. looks like might be a computer issue on my end.
  21. Anyone tried to make these boots recently? I see Amazon does not have any of the larger size KingShow 1366 in stock. largest is a 10 currently on Amazon. Do we know if these are close enough in sole density? King Show 1406, the color is still posted as wheat sole. https://www.amazon.com/KINGSHOW-Premium-Full-Grain-Leather-1389wheat/dp/B06XXQKGH8/ref=sr_1_4?camp=1789&creative=9325&dchild=1&keywords=kingshow&linkCode=ur2&linkId=53057cc636add57c8b9930cbc9604b50&qid=1625686744&s=apparel&sr=1-4&th=1
  22. The link for the template i not coming up. Can someone please post the template again?
  23. Thanks. The pattern will be helpful
  24. I like this method of making the vest and cod into one piece. I will proceed in trying this method
  25. I am working on completing my soft parts first. Having finished my flight suit last week. No on the the flak vest, cummerbund, and cod piece. I have found good tutorial for the vest and cummerbund on the forums and should be too be a problem. However I haven't been able to find a cod piece tutorial. Also looking to see how to connect the codpiece and flak vest together into one piece. make cod piece higher in front and sew together with vest or make straps similar to the strap that goes under and attaches to the back?
