I don't know of any vendors that make the belt. Check my WIP. I show how I made mine. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

I'm a little late seeing this but did you ever come up with a way to make your shin armor as tight as you wanted?

I'm using a pair of regular boots that meet the CRL standards that have laces. I made a flap with a pocket on the end that I attached by lacing through the flap. I glue a magnet to my toe caps and place a magnet in the pocket of the leather flap. I don't have a pair of crowprop boots. Sorry i can't help with those. If I had a pair I'm sure I could figure something out that would not require a permanent attachment.. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Kashy in need of new rubber belt for cumberbund
Teufelhunden616 replied to indykash's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
You could make one out of leather if you want something that will last a very long time. Check out my WIP. I made my own out of two leather belts. Just ignore the first couple of versions of the belt buckle. I have a more screen accurate belt buckle that is designed for 3D printing. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk -
Congratulations on your new project. Welcome to the adventure. Check out some of the WIP threads. You'll see that we all started with that question of "How to...?" Check out Thrasher's thread, his thread is pretty informative. My thread has been some trial and error as I progressed. I started out with some things then changed it up to be more accurate. There are a lot of videos on YouTube that detail how to assemble the armor. i haven't seen one made specifically for the KST but the plastic is usually the same. The cool thing about the KST is the paint job. The Kashyyyk armorers can help too. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Sorry for so many responses. Here is the pair i got from lapolicegear.com. Im going to use them for my Galactic Marine costume. I forgot to mention. I cut off half of the uppers from the Danner boots so the calf armor doesn't have to be so bulky around the lower calf and ankle area. With a little adjusting with the boot and the pants on you should be able to make the calf armor so it looks tapered like the screen shots. But there is only so much you can do given the KST and GM are CGI drawings. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

A dremel with a coarse sanding bit can remove the logo. These Danner's had a logo stamped into the heel. A little careful sanding and you can't even tell it was ever there. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

The colors look good. You could experiment with a little bleach and eater to lighten them even more. Also look for a mid height. It will reduce the amount of bulk in the calf armor. Look for models with a more prominent arch. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Check amazon and LApolicegear. There are other vendors also. I just named them because they were the first to come to mind. You can find some boots that you can make work for less than $100 or even less. I bought s pair from LApolicegea.com but they around $105 after shipping and taxes. Im currently on working on modifying a pair of Old "Danner" desert tan boots i had. I have my own opinions about crowprop stuff but ill keep that to myself. I was not sure where to post this question but this looked like as good a place as any. Since we are about to begin the new year (2022), is it possible to update all the reference photos that are described in the CRL? Maybe use photos from recently approved kits as described in the CRL descriptors, with close-ups of the items being described. Maybe include a screenshot from the Movie for screen accuracy, overall photo of the item, a close-up of the requirement being described, and then a photo of it being worn on an actual human. There are a lot of photos posted but most of the good ones seem to be outdated. Is there a file size limit to the CRL? If not, can photos be added to the CRL that depict the CRL requirements? Sort of like a step by step guide showing the item. Such as the cummberbund or the front pocket on the undersuit and etc.. I know this can be tedious but I'm willing to help if needed. I am not an approved member yet but I see a trend with every new person, such as myself, we all start with the same questions of what, where and how. Happy New Year!

Drop box measurements
Teufelhunden616 replied to Teufelhunden616's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
Guidance needed regarding the attachment points for the leather strips. I've seen two versions on the screenshots. Eyelets with the D- ring Flat fabric looped with the D-ring. In some of the screenshots shots the D ring looks wider than the leather strips. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk -

Looking for Helmet lens info
Teufelhunden616 replied to Teufelhunden616's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
Thanks. I received my lense material a couple of weeks ago. I've already got the pattern made for the material. Actually has enough material to make 3. -
Anyone got a wiring diagram for setting up the speakers, microphones for hearing aid, and ventilation fans for the helmet? Would it fit in the Kashyyyk Scout Trooper helmet? Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

The references that I have are conflicting. Can someone with an approved costume share the measurements of their drop boxes? Specifically the height, width at top, width at bottom, thickness, and the flap overlap. Most appreciated Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

Looking for Helmet lens info
Teufelhunden616 replied to Teufelhunden616's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
Okay thanks. I was looking at some reflective lenses from kalevalavisors.com. They have 3 choices of green. I'll pick something that looks the part. I think I'll go with the "shamrock", it sounds lucky. But, then again the "emerald" looks pretty good too. -
Looking for Helmet lens info
Teufelhunden616 replied to Teufelhunden616's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
Thanks. I'm still curious about the shade of reflective green. -
What's a good source for obtaining the lens for the Kashyyyk helmet? What shade of green is screen accurate for CGI character?

This may sound silly if you've never heard of it before but you can experiment if you want. When you plan on attaching a rivet to a piece of webbing, start out with putting a little bit of baking soda on the spot where you intend on attaching the rivet that is slightly larger than the rivet. Then put a drop of super glue on the baking soda and the two will instantly turn into plastic that you can drill a hole through. Be aware that what ever the shape of backing soda is, that is what the form will be when the super glue soaks into it. That instant plastic can be sanded, and painted if need. With a little imagination you can repair and replace broken plastic pieces. Be cautious of the fumes though. Heat is also a result of the mixture. If you are uncertain, and this sounds bat crap crazy, search for super glue and baking soda repair on youtube. There are quite few tutorials on the subject. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
