I met a few scout troopers this weekend and a couple were using a KS helmet. If you own and use one what are your thoughts on it?

Great suggestions there chopper. I like the idea of the lazy Susan a lot.

I was also thinking of a shop once I’m done with sanding and primer. Haven’t looked into it but I don’t think the cost would be crazy. Just fitting into there schedule for such a small piece might be the issue.

Have researched and there’s a lot of kinds being used. Automotive, appliance white. Ect. What’s the consensus on the best paint and color to use? Also does everyone clear coat aswell?

That’s good for sure. There’s a bunch of options I have noticed just in doing my research. Some good some well you know but atleast there are options.

I find it interesting because I know as a tk the crl pretty much band any three piece style helmets from being approved. I think there were only a few three piece helmets out anyhow like fx and the like. I wonder if they will ever go to something similar with the scout helmet. I hope not but things do change.

I have made the abs paste for my tk not sure it takes a polishing to well though. I mostly used it for reinforcement of certain areas.

So would you repaint the entire helmet after that? Just curious on what others are doing

Have you done this? What did you use to fill it? I would assume some sort of platic bond

So that brings to question. What are sc helmet users using to fill the seem? Are they then having to paint the helmet completely? Would love to see some examples.

I noticed on the crl today that it says for level 2 any joining seems on the helmet will need to be filled. So sc helmet unless modified cannot make lancer? am I correct on that.

I am about 5’6” 158lbs shoulders are pretty broad for my height. I know with the tk you can pretty much size any helmet up or down during the build but not with the scout. Thus is my dilemma and hunt for research.

I have read good things about both.

So should I stay away from Altman since it’s considered one of the bigger? I like the detail on Altman but if it does not fit good then the look means nothing. lol

New to scouts and am wanting to make sure I get the right bucket for my head. When I built my tk I went with ata because they have a bucket on the smaller size my head circumference is 21-21.5 inches. Any help would be appreciated thank you
