  1. I am on the fence... That SC with the larger eyes does look good, but I really like the overall shape/size on the RS (and how it looks with the rest of the armor)... The ONLY thing I don't like on the RS is the paint. And while it does look "different", when I have everything together, it doesn't look "that" different...
  2. So, I got my SC kit back in February and put an order in for an RS Red Label helmet right after, which I got today, so both helmets are the most recent versions available... Overall impressions are that I like the overall shape of the RS one better, but I am sad that the color is so different from my SC armor. I had requested it to be more shiny, but that did not happen, cause it's definitely a matte paint job. I took the chin cup out of my SC one, but I am on the fence with the RS one... With everything on, it doesn't look too bad (and I plan on weathering my kit at some point, which hopefully will help), but hopefully I can take some pics soon to see how they look in photos (both inside and outside)... Below are some quick comparison shots... SC on the left, RS on the right.
  3. No problem! I would also suggest when gluing to make sure the edges get glued well, cause if any of it is going to fail, it will most likely start at the edges...
  4. I use fabric glue to glue a lot of my velcro pieces. I glued two velcro pieces on my TK garter belt (the one I use to attach my thighs) that get a lot of use and have not had any problems on those (knock on wood). None of my other glued velcro on other costume parts have had any issues either... I do something similar, where I glue them on and clamp them down for like a day... I do usually put something in between the fabrics, to make sure the glue doesn't seep through to the fabric below (like a piece of cardboard or even the board of some packaging)... When I did the bicep velcro for my TB, I did that, which was good, cause I probably used a little too much and the board was glued to the back side! Definitely was easier to separate the board than it would have been to try and separate the fabric!
  5. I haven't got a ship date yet, but hopefully soon (they said it's in for finishing, which sounds like the last step, so fingers crossed)... It's been over 9 weeks since I ordered, which is why I sent the email, cause I was curious at the time frame... This makes me hopeful! I ordered mine clean, but plan to weather everything at some point and I'd rather do it all myself, so it matches (and I don't have to worry about matching their weathering)... But until I do the weathering, I was hoping it would all look great together clean! I can't wait!
  6. Thanks for this! I *hopefully* will be getting my RS Red label helmet soon (they said it's in finishing now, whatever that means) and am going to want to do this as well! One thing I am anxious about, I asked them to finish it less matte, more shiny (to more closely match my SC armor)... I'll be curious to see what they do, if anything... But when I emailed yesterday for an update, they definitely were aware of my request at least, so we'll see...
  7. I have about the same size head and fit in the SC one fine! I just got mine in and after playing around with the pads a bit, have it fitting just about perfect. I have a couple of thick pads on the forehead section and back of the base of my head and then a small strip of 1/4" foam on the top and it fits really nice!
