Lens Material for Helmet?
Tantive1 replied to ItBelongsInAMuseum's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hey UK/ Europe Scouts, Im in the market for a new lens for my scout. As much as I'd like to source the Hobart, I don't fancy being stung for the cost and import charge. Does anyone have suggestions as mine keeps popping out, even with hot glue. I've found one on Amazon which has comments about being used in a Mando lid but before I hit the button I wanted to get any suggestions. -
Congratulations mate!

It's well worth doing buddy, I posted pictures of my progress here to get advice and guidance. The sign off and clearance will be done on the UKG side but the knowledge is definitely here and invaluable, especially when you come across issues, I guarantee someone here has a solution. Good shout on getting the lid pre-made, you've saved yourself days of mental torture! [emoji23]

Congratulations Mickey.

And cleared. Thank to everyone who offered help, support and advice. You're all heroes.

Hi Stefan, Completely get that, no problems with the process at all buddy. I know how snowed Andy is at the moment and I was using the experience and expertise here to try not to overload Andy on the UKG. All good mate, Chris Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ah, with you....... I can't really tell but certainly not something I've noticed in previous kit ups. If it is then I'm chalking it up to a dressing issue. Do you want me to kit up again?
-
Thanks for the quick reply. Easy confirm.......the suede butt flap is rectangular and only attached at the top. Thanks!

Hey all, Two nights instead of one but this was due to the decision to strengthen the front of the cod to make it sit more flat against my abdomen. I've also lengthened the elastic, lowered the belt on the bund which enabled me to hoike the bund, cod and belt up. The cod was also moved higher behind the bund..........3D jigsaw springs to mind! I've also moved the pouches out to ensure the ribs and clear on either side. I hope I've addressed all the advice and comments made, they are all really appreciated.

Thanks all for the advice, much appreciated as ever. No pictures tonight as I'm doing some bund and Cod modifications. - The plan is to extend the elastic that runs between the legs, add some Velcro to the back of the closed bund to allow it to attach there. This should allow for the cod/ bund to go higher. - I'm going to lower the belt on the bund which in turn should also allow for the bund to be raised. All of this should mean that the cod will sit higher and lose the baggy cod look. I'm also going to look to reinforce the cod in the bottom third to stop the material gathering and causing the pinching, it should make it sit more flat against the crotch. More pictures tomorrow night!

I don't think it was done up properly. Question, if you put it on backwards and then spin it, is it attached between your legs? Mine has a strap running from the bottom of the cod between my legs and up to the lower part of the Velcro close at the back.

Huge thanks to everyone taking the time to advise on my WIP. I'll go for another full kit up tomorrow taking into account the feedback.
-
Thanks chap, the advice is all massively helpful! Right no problem. I'll move them out further.
-
Thanks Rob, really appreciate the quick reponse!I'll lower the elastic strap down even further at the back and raise it up higher at the front under the bund. Hopefully that'll resolve the issue. Cheers!

Evening all, I've taken into account the feedback above, which I am massively grateful for, and hopefully made the changes. - Moving the bund elastic down has meant I can move the whole bund up which gives a better cod position. - The pouches have been moved out to show the ribs and been swapped over. - The biceps have been swapped over.
