Cummerbund tutorial find
TwistedZen replied to clockworksoldier's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Would this also be somewhat dependent on proportions of an individual's body? Asking for someone who has a weird torso and has trouble finding shirts that fit right...and fighting with his cummerbund... -
So I finally pulled the trigger on a DLT-19x and ordered a second scope. One scope plain black and the second with the red ring for the Del Meeko I am working on. I got the BlastFX parts as well.. I ordered from 3DPropsNL https://www.3d-props.com/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/3DpropsNL I have only put together small blasters like the Glie-44 and Merr-Sonn Power 5, so this will be interesting.

I have used Dryel for mine. https://dryel.com/ It is just a bag and essentially what is a large wetnap. You put them in the dryer on medium for 15-30 minutes and they come out pretty fresh. I have used it for my Officer uniforms as well. You can pick them up on Amazon, Target, and I think Walmart.

Best scope to convert a DLT-19 to a DLT-19x
TwistedZen replied to althalus's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Weapons
That is what I have been looking for. I like modularity. DLT-19, DLT-19x for Biker Scout, and DLT-19x (red ring scope) for Del Meeko. -
That is the one I use. I have several towels for padding and it fits just right. Edit: I do have a separate padded helmet bag for the bucket.
-
I've seen the actual vests that you can wear too. That might not be a bad idea though.
-
I know the building that I was in has been toasty before, so it might not be good to judge off of that day. But still, with the padding out of my helmet and trying out different/nothing under the flightsuit, I should be better for the next troop. Probably a bit more to find what works just right for me, as I do run a little warm.
-
I can try it without the heatgear next time. I'm also am swapping out the helmet padding with hardhat liner, so there should be more airflow too. Even though its padding, the top one was hurting my head A LOT. It felt hard as a rock.
-
So I did my first troop, and while I did think the building was a bit hot, it wasn't too bad. I sweat straight through my Under Armour, flight suit, flak vest, and onto the shoulder bells. Is that normal?
-
The only thing it that it would be nice if it could break down into at least two parts. I have been looking for a DLT-19x that I can swap the scopes out on so I could use it for the Scout Trooper and in the future Inferno squad (red ring scope). It was suggested that I get a nice 3d printed one and make a resin copy of it, but I have no experience with that and seems like a lot of money/work to just make one for myself. I don't think anyone would be too happy with me using their 3d print as a model for selling copies.

Added in last pic to show the back of the cummerbund. Might actually still be salvageable. We shall see...

Oh I forgot about that from one of the other lancer posts. Thanks!

Ok so I thought I had everything just about complete. Besides a few minor fixes like keeping the shoulder bells in place (tightened the zip ties and will put in velcro), I know the cummerbund is off center. Unfortunately this was an alteration mistake and it doesn't look like there is enough material to fix it. Boxes are uneven too. Anything else I am missing (other than the det in the two side pictures)?

Has anyone made a video of how to cut all the armor. I thought I could do it, I tried a dremel, box cutter, and exacto knife. I messed it up, but nothing bondo probably can't fix. The thing is, I have zero experience in this area and have never been a crafty person, so this is quite a dive for me. I was hoping that maybe someone had even just a short video of making a few cuts and how to make them look good. Thanks!

The Hot Toys stuff I think would be fairly accurate no? It actually looks like a strap on the back and some stretchy thing on the inside of the calf.
-
I thought that they had a strap in the back like this one. https://www.amazon.com/FAMMZ-Riding-Police-Equestrian-Regular/dp/B01HJ04HES/

There is really nothing wrong with any of them, otherwise, they wouldn't be here.

Where did you get the bluetooth comlink and binders from? What about the DLT-19x?
-
You might be biased though...

Dude that is so awesome. Nice work!
