The lid color is not indicative of the actual paint color. You can use gloss, you will need to do a Matt clear before weathering
-
I want to see the Sand (7771) next to the ivory silk if you could knock that out for us.
-
It's got a hint of purple to me Some I know are going with Rustoleum Sand (7771) with a matt clear as the base but I'm just not feeling it.

best method for poking a hole through the belt is?
-
for the material around the Pringle Can what are we using? Also ive never dealt with belts of this material so how are we mounting the PC,TD, and boxes to it?

https://www.amazon.com/SPONGE-NEOPRENE-PLAIN-THICK-WIDE/dp/B00D8FLWSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478956086&sr=8-1&keywords=3%2F16+neoprene+sponge+sheet this is what I bought and others in my group have bought. One order of it is enough for 3 to 4 sets of armor

I believe the TD back plate is constructed like the FOTK setup.

Need to get the belt layout photos hosted on the forum so the link wont die ever. I also think that belt clip was never meant to be seen so it shouldn't be make or break for anyone

I come from the land of sand troopers and MEPD has 3 levels which is nuts. I'm base level all day with my sandy. But my shore trooper is going all the way
-
Plus these Orca Bay boots might not be made for ever so there might be some validity to not making them a make or break for L2 but if you're super hardcore approval then make it for L3

this is what some of us determined to be the go to for colors in the USA. Colours in the UK/Europe will have different names more than likely. this is why we have have spent time and money researching the colors so you do not have to. We have a pretty close match. The red, yellow, black, and white colors are consistent across brands. You will want to make sure you get those colors in a solid shade. None of that Red-Orange or Orange Red stuff.. You want RED RED. But the main armor color and the blue have proven to be difficult to narrow down. The colors already specified will work and are pretty close to what was used and this is after a proper weathering. I've spent close to $100 on spray paint... by the way I tried it and next to Blue Sky this looks purple

What I am saying is if someone has feet that are too big or too small for what OB offers they should not be disqualified from level 2 or higher because of a physical limitation that they have no control over. Kind of like how we have short vaders or tall jawas. You can still have a level 3 approvalable vader because the 501st doesn't discriminate on height or physical characteristics.

3/16" thick neoprene That is what I'm using.

I saw this on whitearmor.net and wanted to share what Paul has accomplished here as well. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/39259-shoretrooper-helmet-painting-tutorial-by-paul-prentice/

So much texturing.

Base level approval should not require the orca bay boots and I think with the limited size availability it really shouldn't make or break a level 2 approval in my opinion since you can't help it if your feet are larger or smaller than the screen used boot.
-
its because of pants...

I will say these are the most expensive foot prisons I have ever ordered. But they are very comfortable and the leather is super supple. I kind of do not want to ruin them while weathering.

For those looking to go the next level and have screen accurate boots the boots you seek are Orca Bay Brecon (its a chelsea style boot, a favorite of the empire apparently) Color is up debate since the available colors are: Black, Havana, Sand, and Elk. Orca Bay posted on Facebook that "Sand" was the official color used in the movie. However, until I see an invoice from the costuming house that made the ST it is up to debate because the boots are heavily used and abused. Color Acceptable colors are any of them, except black. I personally bought a pair in Havana. With some light weathering it should be fine. Boot Vendors LHCO.co.UK (lead time here is very long, I have been waiting since July 26th) Ardmoor.co.uk (lead time depends on boot availability, I ordered a second pair of boots since my LHCO order is still in limbo and I received the boots in 3 days from the UK. I would reccomend this seller over LHCO) Orcabay.co.uk can show you a list of dealers within Europe. I was supposed to go to a shop outside London after SWCE and pickup a pair of boots but I ran into logistical issues. Price Expect to pay around $150 shipped from the UK if they are not on sale. I believe I got my boots from LHCO for around 89 GBP plus 30 GBP shipping. Ardmoor was around $140 shipped to the US

Ok because I thought you were actually talking about the real secret build group that doesn't exists at all From what we know, currently. This could change once the movie is out. Plus for non cannon events you can mix n match. I haven't ordered a Kama yet but I could see one coming my way. The ability to sit will be nice.

secret builds? what secret builds are you talking about?

Yeah, that would be nice.
