  1. I liked those OP ones so much I ordered them, something about the color of the single tone sole impressed me.They are very comfortable, the sole is a softish gum rubber rather than a harder one. District has spring break next week so I have decided it's the perfect time to do boots and mod flightsuits. I'll let you know how they turn out.
  2. Ok so the Red Kap I ordered showed up today and I have to say off the bat...wow, is that thing heavy. It weighs about 3x as much as the Sweet Co. one. Color is basically the same, SwC suit has a bit of a, I dunno...sheenier aspect but to me (in my inexperience with all things coverall) it's not really noticeable. Texture is a big difference, think canvas painters drop cloth (RK) vs a heavier business shirt (SwC). RK gives me a diaper butt looking issue (yay for non-mesomorph bodies!) and feels like it hangs a bit more in the crotch. Anyone able to answer if that is common and will it be addressed by the mudflap and elastic from the cod or should I have it addressed in tailoring? SwC kinda feel like it's going to be a seat picker if I have to drop to a knee but the flap may address that by keeping it out (or I can have it let out a bit maybe). If anyone cares to share fit stories/experiences I'm sure it would benefit someone else too... Here's some pictures of the two on for comparison... RK first: And now the SwC:
  3. Then we already know one thing to add to the next level when we get one designed!
  4. Sorry to all our lady scouts....there aren't any hunky male scout pin-ups that aren't already in build threads....
  5. Read everything. No seriously. Every thread has something to learn from, mistakes, new tricks, ideas that haven't been attempted but have been shared. Start with the pinned threads in each category and branch out from there.
  6. http://s5.photobucket.com/ - free account, provides right-click save imbedded photo links, easy to upload and share
  7. Pretty good way to kick off.
  8. Congrats on getting your UNIFORM approved! 😉
  9. Now there's an idea for a kit...a storage box with in-box shelving complete with shaped foam packing material.
  10. Funny how the little steps bring so much joy...now you get to fret over the best way to pack!
  11. Yes, those are the mods I will have to make. I'm big on texture and tactile knowledge. I haven't felt a Red Kap and they seem easy to get ahold of so that's why I wanted to try this other out first, I'm not an engineer after all. I'm pretty pleased with how it feels, I may order a Red Kap as well before I start making mods just to make a better comparison and make myself spend some more planning time. If I like both its not like having two under suits modded at the same time wouldn't cut down on future replacement if I liked it.
  12. Fairly certain the only REAL purpose of the flap is to aid in combating elastic crack syndrome....
  13. The flak vest is black....are you asking if you can wear something besides black?
  14. AAAAAAND I got 90% of he parts for the pre-greeble construction of my poor man's E11s (aka DLT-19) cut, mocked up with drill/notch templates this weekend...and may have come up with a solution to make it a two-piece for easier transport.
  15. Palpatine be praised! Had myself an absolutely horrid day at work, 7th graders in March, I'll take ewoks and giant mobile trees anytime. However when I got home there was....not ONE unexpected package but TWO!! Boot base arrived 3 days early and jumpsuit arrived 4 days early. Huzzah! Pictures to come after the show tonight...unless someone wants to give advice on how to do imbedded image links from the iPad...Gordon Lightfoot is worth the wait Initial thoughts... ...going to have to be on the lookout for my boot base of choice a half size up or strip out the fuzzy lining ..........treads look MUCH better up close than any online image has shown so far ..........I should probably take a casting of them before I start applying vinyl just in case I get in touch with that lady on Etsy who does soles ...jumpsuit fits great, in that I mean it is a little snug to get back out of ..........possibility of letting out the crotch a tiny bit before patching ..........two chest pockets would be good places for venting since they will be useless anyway ..........two back pockets will be easy to remove and use for crotch-mod and/or mandarin collar ..........collar has really nice height when flipped up, comes almost all the way up to chin ..........two front waist (standard location) pockets can be a quick stitch-up ..........legs are a little baggy for my likes, but I knew they would be going in to accommodate for body length ..........will probably have them taken in a bit by my seamstress (dear ole' ma) when she does he crotch/venting ..........poplin is exactly how light I wanted this suit to feel in terms of thickness
  16. Mine should be arriving next week, I'll make sure I post up some pictures and an update for future reference yay or nay.
  17. Hey! I've got the same back and forth plan!
  18. So, it's not standard equipment but I managed to pick up a Build Your Own Blaster (NIB) for $25 that I am going to convert over spring break (3 1/2 more weeks....grrr) into an E11s using some of those poor man builds at the FISD. Who knows, maybe I'll mock up a holdout-blaster while I'm at it.
  19. That looks pretty damn classy. What are you going to mount inside it?
  20. We'll they look good to me
  21. Ever the struggle...getting it out or getting paid. Only the lucky dedicated get to do both.
  22. Very well done video too. Not sure how it is in Dallas but in Louisville drummers are in short supply for starting new bands.
  23. The weathering looks fantastic, how did you go about that?
  24. Thanks for the PB tip Pete! So this is my potential. It's still a scavenge find but it is a much more findable one. I'll give some more details when I nab a pair (hopefully in a day or so) and get to check them out more.
