Oh ok, sounds simple enough. Thanks for the tip!

Thats good to know, I will try to remember to do this. How did you apply it? just wash the lens in the soap or did you rub the soap into the lens and let it dry?

I can understand that! I have decided to go with the Snow Commander as my first build though. Now I don't have to worry about the cummerbund at all! hahaha.

Gotcha, that's not to bad. I'm no expert on the boots but they look good to me. most definitely on par with the other build threads I have read through!

I haven't read much into that. I have just been kind of assuming it would be alright. -
Awesome! One post under your belt and you already know what took me a few days to figure out after my first post! Kudos! I'm excited to see Walt`s scout kit. He seems like a really cool guy. How long did he say it would be before you get your kit?

Dan Laws is the only one that currently offers it according to the forums. Another guy is in the process of producing his first rounds of a commander kit but I haven't heard back from him so I don't have much info on him or his kit yet. I will pm you Dan`s email so you can ask him whatever questions you have but, I will tell you what he told me. He is considering selling an unfinished kit for $600, finished for $805, and completely assembled for $900 I think. He also said it would take about 2 weeks for it to ship out which isn't bad at all considering some build threads stated they waited on their armor for over a year. I was worried about him just telling me 2 weeks to get me to buy it then let him drag things out but, a lot of people say he has turned his wait times around so I'm taking his word for it. I have talked with him on email and he seems to be a cool dude. He doesn't get a hurry to respond but I guess that's understandable. Ill usually get one email response a day. sometimes 2 days in between. -

Exactly! I like the look of the snow commander better than the scout but only by a little bit. The armor is a little pricey I have found but apparently commanders are rare and people think highly of them. I can help you get started on the research if you would like it. -

Now this boot has sole....
alexmorris21 replied to alexmorris21's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Gotcha. I didn't pay much attention to the sole needing to be flat. I figured the lip would just be covered with vinyl though. -

Those look good too! -
Whats up scouts, I found this boot at Walmart earlier tonight. I have seen a lot of people cutting their boot soles to be more screen accurate and that's something I will probably do at some point as well, but would these boots require cutting for basic approval? they are kinda expensive for a base boot but if you didn't want to mess with cutting the soles this might be an option. It might also be good for someone that doesn't mind cutting them either as it could be easier to reach the screen accuracy level you prefer. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Herman-Survivors-Men-s-Breaker-Work-Boots-Wide-Width/14663325

yeah I kinda looked over the grinding part and just assumed he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box lol. How would you recommend stretching the toe covering? -

What did you find confusing? I haven't tried building them yet so I may be missing something that I would catch when everything is in front of me so it would be good to see that before I start. did you just use the photos in the CRLs or is there a tutorial in them that I'm missing? -
Oh ok, Ive been reading so much stuff its hard to keep up with it all at first. I'm planning to wear my costume to random places to see what kind of reactions I would get lol! I may try to see if I can rig up something like that for my lense as well. I have to ask, what exactly is "cat crap"? lol

Hey everyone, as a noob I have been searching through forums and youtube trying to find tutorials for many of the things that we aspiring troop have to make ourselves or spend a ton of money to get them made for us. I found this video earlier tonight and although I haven't attempted a boot build yet, this looks extremely helpful. I was dreading the boots just about as much as I am the cummerbund and pouches but now, I feel like I can do it. I hope this hasn't been posted yet and if it has then here it is again! Hope this helps yall as much as it did me!

I saw a thread that had the email addres cathy@gmail.com in it saying they did custom cummerbunds so thats probably who i would go with for that, but if im not mistaken I think i saw that SC armor includes the soft parts as well. if so, ill probably go with SC. as for the helmet, SC charges 200 bucks extra for the helmet if you get their armor kit and 244 bucks if you get just the helmet. KS helmet kits are 170 bucks so thats why i was considering them. I didnt realize they had poor customer feedback here though. I'm all about buying from the people that care most about the community and so far, from what I have seen, SC seems to hold the best customer service. going back to the helmet though, I have heard that SC helmets run smaller and I'm afraid that it will look small when I'm in costume and also be too small for my head in general. How did you get the gap in your helmet? did you just add it during your build or is there a thread explaining how to do it in an accurate way?
