  1. best solution is to rub back the yellow, dont use wet/dry paper as ABS soaks up water, rub all the yellowing off, then coat with an auto paint, this will be UV safe and protect the plastic from the UV which yellows the plastic. if you use wet rub paper with water, the water which ABS can "soak up" , can act like a "rain coat" which wont allow the paint to stick. the yellow effect can leach through the paint so get it all off. hope that helps cheers
  2. The Altmann bucket comes with a chin cup, not fitted. cheers
  3. nice review. the "white" of the helmet is auto paint so car polish can be used to maintain the finish, cheers
  4. worth a look http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13442
  5. Yamaha Midnight Special is what you need, its part of the engine block/head and its the right side you want. good luck
  6. Hi Alex, maybe start at the top and work down....lol Start looking around to see whats out there, who likes which helmet/armour, problems with certain "parts", who has a size that may or may not fit you. What you can get as kits or "ready to go" finished armour And of course costs and time frame for delivery once you have payed up front. and ask as many questions as you need to, alot have been there done it, made mistakes as we all do at times. good luck with your Scout Build cheers
  7. Merry Xmas to all the scouts, from down under!
  8. yes you can BUT plastic gets out of control really fast when heated, particularly when its thin so take your time good luck
  9. looks great mate!
  10. thanks,I'll clean up my messages,I have alot....
  11. this is what you need.
  12. damn! nice gloves
  13. I'm working on that mate:)
  14. my forearms are 13inch and my bicep is 13 inch, those parts I made are larger than that to allow for clothing/padding.
  15. so the scout lense is green? my info is a dark"grey/blue"
  16. another way to keep the visor up without over tighting the bolts, try a small rubber "O" ring inbetween the visor and the "bump" on the side of the helmet. This idea was used on the Fett sensor stalk. cheers
  17. wont be long now, shoulders are done, no pics as yet,I'll post them when I can with size's cheers
  18. be REAL careful, if the plastic is thin, 2mm things can go pear shaped real fast, take your time. good luck
  19. I'm working on new "large size" armour now. I'll post up as I finish molds from my earlier "1987-88" molds. these size's I'm making to fit me, 6foot, 48inch chest. I hope to get some pics from other "armour" to show the size difference, MC and mine, some to start with http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=14282
  20. looks like the edges of the face cover need to be filed/sanded abit further out but this will leave a larger gap. you could use velcro on the inside edge to attach a strap for the chin cup or attach your strap to the bolt/nut on either side at the bolts/buttons
  21. do you have any pics of these?
  22. Hi, PM me for helmet cheers
  23. we dont have E6000 in australia, if we do I dont know of it. super glue is ok to glue a rivit on plastic as its only cosmetic. a rivit will crack plastic if to much pressure is used. I'm talking about a tank that is a cover only, that fits on a "raised base", not the tank topper.
  24. I was thinking when I do my armour, this part I would use super glue/crazy glue to glue a "rivit set up" on the skin but have the "tank skin" to velcro over a "platform" so its easy to take off the skin. any thoughts?
