ROTJ Scout Cummerbund Tutorial
mmmtoastyboy replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Do you happen to know the name of the material you used? There's alot of options at the store to decide from. -
You need a balaclava. Your chin will show if you talk.
-
Its part of the crl. Your neck and chin might show without it. That looks like a good option.
-
My first one was a flight suit and was very thin. It didnt last long till I had holes. Switched to a red kap which is much thicker.
-
I can tie and untie mine like regular shoes. I fold the sides forward to reach the laces. I even have risers to give me a couple inches.
-
I use those sticky velcro circles. I do both sides of the "sideburn" towards the bottom.
-
I kinda like that idea. I pull my bund up and my flap always gets stuck in back. I seem to be the only one who pulls it up lol.
-
Mine cost less than $100. I use it a lot.

Yikes, don't pay that much for the vest. Find an armor party and see if someone can bring a sewing machine and follow that shirt tutorial.

The MANDALORIAN Biker Scouts
mmmtoastyboy replied to Rosso's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" HQ
I'm going with the TB ruined his bund and pulled this one off a dead endor scout before he left and it was way too big but theres no more empire so whos gonna say anything? Also the seamstress was on the death star sooooo yeah. -
I use a singer traditional. I bought it for my military uniforms years before the 501st. Used it for all my scout soft stuff and my snowie duster. I think you can accomplish the scout with a straight and zigzag stich. Its on sale at joann. https://www.joann.com/singer-2277-tradition-sewing-machine/10855880.html#start=1

Studio Creations Helmet Question
mmmtoastyboy replied to adamantiumcomb's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I used the primer grey and it matched my other helmet decals. Just take your time and paint the black. My wife free handed mine and its perfect, shes proud of it. -
Keep the balaclava. If you wear a shirt under your suit then get one of those hanes xtemp ones. I also have xtemp boxers which "help".

I thought the ears looked big... kinda looks like rebels scout ears. I was going to say the eyes looks weird. Theres a serious lip that I haven't seen on anyone else. -
Making a cummerbund, pouches, and cod
mmmtoastyboy replied to Zugor's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
When I made mine too small, I moved the velcro over and let it hang off the edge of the fabric. You can only see it when I undo the velcro which is never since I pull it up. -
I used electrical tape around the whole thing. Like really taped the hell out of it but no one is looking at the inside. Cant tell from the outside. It holds and is easy to remove for whatever reason.
-
I did both bund and armor but stuck with the bund. Velcro to the bund so they can come off IF I needed to wash the bund.
-
My patches dried kinda weird. So I stopped washing it and just turn it inside out and fabreeze the hell out of it.

Etsy shoretrooper; 501st approved?
mmmtoastyboy replied to Teepeethewelder's topic in Getting Started
I don't understand why there's only one picture for products. Etsy allows for more pictures and if I'm buying I want to see different angles and details. His FO bucket has more pictures, which helps. I'd ask for more pictures for the shore. -
Mines on the short side. I used the T-shirt tutorial for it. It meets the top of bund but sits above it since my bund is Velcro'd to my flight suit. It sits in place pretty good, doesn't need to be secured to anything.
-
There should be a piece of Velcro on the inside of the bund or vest, I don't think there is a requirement for lancer. Mine goes to the bund where the td is. Velcro makes a sticky Velcro for fabric, if you're not into sewing.

You could try retro Brite. I do it to my bucket before every troop. You might have an easier time with the chest and bells. Those are the most yellowed I can see.
-
I took my amp apart and it separates into 2 sides kinda. Basically the battery, board and speaker. I was able to put it at the bottom of the chest on either side of the chest piece if you can picture what I'm saying. I just wanted to see if it would work. You could try that. My problem was the feedback.
