Amazing! You sir, are a legend. Cheers...

Yes mate I am. I'll happily swap you cash for suede if you have a bit spare?
-
I'm putting together a second undersuit so I've got something fresh to wear for multiple day troops, but have been to three fabric shops in my town & can't find real suede for love nor money! Does anyone have a good tip for where to grab some?
-
Look forward to seeing the finished product! Awesome bike by the way. But you already know that I'm sure...

Hmmm yeah I see what you mean. I get home from work in a bit, I'll adjust & post pics... -
Nice tie! Formal scout...

It goes up out of the top, then down & back in at the bottom. Although I think that's unnecessarily complicated & just have it riveted to the side...

Noticed the top of the pouch sticks out a wee bit on the side, so just put some extra Velcro on the side strap just to keep it neat... -

Okay here we go... Just picked up my flak jacket from the alteration place... Decided to take the lot to work and prance about a bit before I do any actual work. Just because... -
Foam block in one side, and in the other, I had an old card box that fit perfectly. I've put Velcro inside at strategic points & stuck my ROM/FX in there. Then they're both covered in the same fabric as the bund is made from.

I like to think the black is supposed to be carbon scoring, or oil & muck from working on the bikes

Black spray paint, with a super fine nozzle cap. Very lightly sprayed from about a foot & a half away. I always give it a quick burst onto some card or something before each go on the armour, just to make sure there are no blobs of paint. It should be a fine mist. As is so often said, less is more!

Quick update... Did a spot of weathering last night. Also stitched elastic suspenders to the bund. Taking the flak jacket to an alteration place on Monday to have 2" Velcro stitched on as I've only got 1" at the mo. Pics to follow soon, but the missus is away this weekend & I'm not going to start taking selfies in the mirror like some pouting lass getting ready to go to the disco... -

Cheers for the feedback lads. I'll post some new pics up soon. Just painted the rivets & straightened the belt up a bit. Time for work now unfortunately... -

Yep, I just finished the build yesterday, hence the clean & shiny armour, so gonna do a bit of weathering next day off. Also noticed the drop boxes after I put the pics up. Will get on it... -
Okay, so new build, no better time to go Lancer! Here are all the pics I've taken for my clearance, plus a few extra close ups. Marcel, I know you said about watching the bund droop at the back. I'm going to fix elastic suspenders on the bund to make sure it's nice and straight. The pouches are probably a little too close together in these shots too, but they're easily moved. Any feedback would be most welcome...

I'm pretty sure that's how they did it in the film too...
-
Yep that's what I use. Just lightly sprayed on here & there. Have some white spirit handy in case you want to wipe it off too
-
Good man. Just remember, do it gradually. You can always take more off, but you can't put it back. Believe me, I learned that lesson the hard way.
