Here is my trial run on Halloween. It was good to see what worked and what didn't. Boots hurt and the belt broke. Still have some fine tuning.

Pretty much done! What do you think?

Here is my belt (sans TD). How does it look? Do the black clips need to be functional, or are they merely decoration? Are the pouches poofed enough? Are the thigh boxes the correct height? Thanks for the feedback!

My chest armor is complete! Tried on my costume for "first looks." Totally stoked now! Any comments?

Did you glue the top visor thing to the face plate yet? Align the edges of both and tape together to get a feel for how it is supposed to look. I had a look at mine over a couple of days before committing to glue. I only glued the top and the recessed where the big bolt goes. After that dried I drilled, put in 1/8" bolts w/ nuts and washers. Works fine, but it won't stay closed. I'm thinking a small piece of Velcro will do the trick, though.

I spent quite a bit of time searching too. I even looked in the archive section. The helmets from SC there are from several years ago and are not the same version of what is being offered in 2013. Oh, well. Maybe it is our Destiny to create the very build we are looking for!!

Very little. Just cut out the visor, which had an outlined pattern in the inside, and the ear holes. Sanded all around the edges. Take your time. I put it all together with tape to study the overall shape before bringing in the drill and cutting.

Yes, here is my helmet progress... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=11349

The SC bucket came with helmet bolts, but they are way too big, I think, to use on my helmet. The square post underneath sticks out 3mm and would prevent my visor from opening. Unless I'm missing something. I used a washer of the same size as the bolt head and a small screw in the center. I used two washers between the visor and bucket layers and two under the bolt. I needed to see how the whole thing comes together. It looks good, but I have a huge space on top of the visor. Is this correct? I can't see how else this bucket goes together.

I've been working on my SC recently. Somehow those clips help to keep the eye lens in place...but I couldn't tell you how. If you find a thorough SC build tutorial, let me know. I haven't seen any that take you through the entire build.

Is there's thread that shows exactly how to properly put together an SC bucket? I've looked and can't find anything. I can see the general shape it is supposed to take, but I don't know where to glue the pieces together. Help!

Thanks, Jim. I filed down the upper part of the visor this morning.

My ear vents. How do they look? Any suggestions?

How does my goggle cut out look? Any suggestions?

Hey Björn, Danke! I will take your advice--it helps to have a fresh set of eyes to look at things before you start cutting things!

I am wondering if the ear holes are positioned ok before I cut. The SC build came with stickers, but I assume that they are not acceptable for lancer.

Thanks for the idea. I had some acrylic paints around and decided to free-hand the red stripe. I applied three coats to get the color bright enough. Since that worked out I tried the same method with that white disc. I may need another coat.

Any advice on the eye hole cutting or shape?

The hump detail unit glued down. Is it allowable to use vinyl stickers for the red stripe and white dot?

Got the brace in place on the back by following Pandatrooper's tutorial. It's glued and riveted--I don't think it's going anywhere. Also worked on the knees and cut out the helmet's goggle area.

Thanks, Chex. Still new at all this. I am planning on following Pandatrooper's tutorial.

Thanks! The big one or the small one on the TD? Here is my helmet taped together for fit. Will be perfect once padding is in place.

I received my big brown box full of SC armor on 23 Sept! Excited and scared at the same time—never attempted anything like this before. How do I post pictures on this thread? The box came with two knobs. One is thicker than the other. I know one goes in the hump's greeble oval. Which one goes there, and where does the second one go? Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks, BJ!

Sweet build!
