I haven't had a lot of free time, but I was able to start getting some detail into the back part of the rifle. More to come soon.
-
A little more form now. I'm thinking I might need to need to make room in the model to have a small pipe in the middle to help support the weight.

Hello all! I decided to jump off the deep end and start modeling an E-11s Sniper Rifle for 3D printing. I haven't printed anything this large before, so I am sure to make a few mistakes along the way. For reference, I am using the Sideshow Collectible Deluxe Sixth-Scale Figure E-11s as reference. I quickly roughed out the profile and then started working on the basic shapes. Once I get all the rough shapes done, I will start to figure out how I am going to slice it up for printing and easy assembly. Once that is done I will move on to the detail work.

Hello everyone! I decided to help out the community and start working on a 3D printable helmet. I am still in the phase of getting the overall shape correct and then I will move onto getting it ready for printing. I would love some feedback on what I have done so far. -Steve Richardson TB-10620

Took the armor out to the first Reno Comic Con. I was able to get the holster mounted and the blaster magnets done before I went and it worked GREAT!!! And here is a shot of the whole family. A few little fixes I want to work in and a couple pieces of Velcro and I will be submitting my 501st application. My thanks to everyone that helped me out along the way! And yes, I did notice that my knee pads were upside down after a few minutes of walking around. I had to find an empty part of the convention and fix it.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have been busy trying to finish my build and work on my son's Luke costume. After many sleepless nights, we made our debut today... I have some more things I need to work on after wearing it for a bit. But all and all I am happy with the results.

Cucblack did indeed make my flight suit. It is made-to-order and fits like a dream. And the quality is outstanding. It did get caught in customs for a lot longer than I thought, but that is by no means his fault. I have seen a few people do a two piece, but I am trying to be as authentic as possible.

Helmet is now assembled and wearable. Tomorrow night I paint the front and attach the snout and chin strap.
-
My build is SC armor and I couldn't me more happy with it. It's a great choice.
-
My wife reminded me that I can't properly line things up unless I am wearing the flight suit. She was right of course. I take back what I said about the chest piece being to high. Seeing with the black it feels better.
-
Did some dry-fitting on the chest pieces before I start cutting the straps. I think it might be riding a little high...but the spacing for the pouches seems right.

Opened up the visor hole more based on some of the feedback I got. I am pretty happy with it.

Hello all, I finally found a few more free days to continue on my build. Boots are almost done, just need to add the holster! Thanks xpxrobbie! The suit is coming along. Thanks ucblack! Also found a few minutes to work on my son's 3D printed lightsaber. Still have a few more things to paint to finish it up. This week is all about getting this thing done. Wish me luck!

So I need a little input from anyone willing to jump in. I woke up this morning and looked at the mask and the cut I made...it felt "off". I followed the lines from SC exactly. So I did a little measuring and it looks like it is not symmetrical at all. This is the cut as it stands now: Just to show how off it is, here are mirrored versions of the left and right side: As you can see in the original, I drew in a few lines by eye in an attempt to make it look more even. I then took it into photoshop and did a little work to see what really needed to be fixed. Here is my suggested fix (red is what would be cut): And this is what it would look like with the lens in: Am I over-thinking this? Does this fix still keep it "on model"?
-
Thanks Enigma. I won't be doing any final lengths until my cummerbund arrives. I did find some time to start working on the helmet. I got the eyes cut out and a better dry-fit with super magnets.

Transfer technique worked great! Did a quick fitting on the full belt before I start cutting a sewing the straps. How does the lengths and positions look?
-
Thanks for the tips. I decided to push the topper in close because I liked the look of it better. I have not put on the rank bars yet because I didn't know which ones to use in the SC pack. It came with two sets of bars. Anyone know which one is used on the back? I also did a little work on the bend of the belt to fit me a little better as well.

Ok, rivets in the belt are complete. As I get my sewing machine up and running, I started working on the back armor. But I have a question. I have seen some pictures that has one rivet to secure and one to put through the Tank Topper. Others it looks like the rivet though the Tank Topper is the only one. On the SC back, it only has a small bumb to attach the hump. To get the Tank Topper to have the rivet also secure the Back Hump, it has to be pushed way back: But most pictures show the Tank Topper like this: Any input you guys have would be great. Thanks all.

Thanks for the photos Jasmine. They helped a lot. Didn't get a whole lot of time to work on it over the past week but I got a few things done. I was able to glue on the back straps: And cut in clean the side pieces: Now I just need need to secure the back buckle and cut the straps to length and place the rivets: Tonight I will be working on the front straps.

Griffin-X - That link helps a lot. Thanks! PanzerKraken - It is part of the SC kit.
-
Thanks Jasmine. I might take you up on that offer. Tonight I got all the armor corners rounded and sanded. I got the belt and bicep glued and set. Tomorrow I will start on getting the rivets into the belt and straps cut and placed.

Anyone have any accurate dimensions on the blaster? I think mine is a little on the small side. I placed it in the holder and it just rolled around. But when I hold it with the gloves on, it seems about right.

Hello all, I finally found a few hours to start on my build. I have all the hard armor (SC) and the soft armor and boots are on the way. Decided to start with the thermal detonator. On to the belt next.

I was very excited to come home yesterday to a package with my SC Helmet and Armor Kit. Thought I would start on the Helmet first while I wait for my soft armor. Fresh out of the box. I did a dry fit to see where I need to start doing the cleanup and trimming. It all seemed to line-up pretty well. Some minor trimming. But I am a little concern at the gap between the front/visor and the back/top. Does it seem to wide?
