  2. here's some pictures of my work in progress...
  3. thanks ! now I'm sculpting the helmet....I'll post some pictures as soon as possible
  4. hey it looks great! what's a shopbot?
  5. those pictures will be very helpful!
  6. it's a really ambitious project, but I want to try here's a blueprint I have done today on millimeter paper.... measures are based on reference pictures . if someone can give me hints and accurate measures of the original bucket ( or at least more accurate measures) please tell me!
  7. thanks Barry! vacuumforming isn't really difficult for simple forms like the shoulders or biceps. now I should start with the helmet...let's see what happens
  8. thank you Jeff!!!!! you're great man! I have just sent you a message on your facebook page.
  9. nice work so far.... I'd like to see the screen used buckets too...
  10. as promised here are some pictures with the full set.... this is the first time ever I wear it so there's some adjustments needed especially on the chest and back plate....but really proud of what is looking like. it took me more than two years but it was completely done by me and my mother who helped me with the soft parts , sewing and so on.... sorry for the bad quality pictures... i'll take more detailed ones when there is more light.
  11. after a long hiatus I'm back to work.. I'll upload some pictures soon to show you how the armor looks on the jumpsuit. now i'm working on the boots!
  12. true. it's a bit flat the chest was my first "big" mould so there are some "noob" mistakes ..... I have learned a lot of things in these 2 years, and I won't stop propmaking so everything in the future would be a little better ( hopefully)
  13. I have finally trimmed most of the armor, some pictures most of the pieces are ok, there's some "last minute-bondo repairing" visible on the chest and back plate.... the hump is not trimmed yet http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020912.jpg http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020916.jpg
  14. hi santiago! I'll post new pictures when I'll have the jumpsuit.... the chest and back armor have been corrected and they are almost done I'll vacumform next sunday maybe. today I buyed the buckles and straps for the belt so we're getting close
  15. just a short message to say I've been working hard on the moulds this weekend and today to get things right, and with all the accuracy I can give as an accidental- do-it-yourself propmaker pictures are soon to come, stay tuned!!!
  16. first of all thanks to all of you for following/reading/showing appreciation on this topic my enthusiasm for this project is growing with your support! I didnt have much time these days to go on with the armor, but I trimmed the chest and back and well... there's something wrong with the shape of the shoulders. they don't fit as they should... so I'm modelling again the moulds.... I will upload some pictures as soon as I have something to show you
  17. http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020741.jpg http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020743.jpg http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020742.jpg I have finally tested the big vacumfoming machine. I had a lot of troubles..... I wasted two large sheet of styrene during the first pulls and removing the chest-plate from the mould I broke some pieces of the mould nothing serious but I need to reinforce the mould or it will break into pieces everytime. I also noticed the chestplate needs a little more sanding. tell me what you guys think about it! hope you like it. all the moulds were scratchbuilt using wood. I've never seen a bikercostume in real life....all I had were some pictures I found on the internet ( magic of mith exibihition mostly) this is my first propmaking project and I'm so happy about the results so far!!!!
  18. hello andy I used 2 mm styrene in this case, now I'm going to work on a bigger vacform box so I can try with the chest-back plate
  19. http://i1158.photobu...11/P1020738.jpg I have just uploaded new pictures of what I vacformed today. everything is working really fine!! this is the home made "vacuumforming station" http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p605/locuststar11/P1020733.jpg
  20. hello jeff, this "fantastic job" as you say, wasn't really possible without your tutorial. it was my first true inspiration for this project.. thank you so much ! you're totally right about the chest plate. I didn't put it in that picture but I have a base that fills the empty spaces you're also right about the sharp edges on the thermal detonator .... I just liked how it looks like this way the ribbed pipe I found has a 3 cm diameter ( too small?) and it should fit on the tunnel.... I don't have yet the endcaps for the pipe.. Is it possible to buy them somewhere?
  21. I've just glued my new and larger vacuumforming box. I'll start doing the holes as soon as it dries. I think I should mention my friend francesco at the wood store he cut the boards and gave them to me for free
  22. thank you jim and ukscout! I will upload pictures as soon as I build the new and larger vacuum forming table.
  23. hi friends! these are the molds I have built with wood and DAS ( a modelling material we have here in Italy). when I started the project I was far more than a noob . the main contributors are: - my mother: she helped me a bit for the sculpting. - the internetz: for the tutorials ( not sure if I can tell the name of the websites ... ) and image references I have vacuumformed the small parts in my oven here at home, but the chest and back plate don't fit in so I'm looking for a bigger oven around...
