  1. Thank you Mike. As far as the white velcro, it was all I could find. You can only see it because I couldn't get the darned thing closed correctly by myself. But it is not noticeable when closed all the way. I will tighten the straps up when I replace the patches with real suede. By popping up, do you mean the white in the back? If so that is the threads from the faux suede and won't be a problem with the real suede.
  2. Ok. Photobucket account created. And here are the links. Lets hope this works. http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/mattsmilingfox/6a.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/mattsmilingfox/4.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/mattsmilingfox/3a.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/mattsmilingfox/2a.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/mattsmilingfox/1a.jpg
  3. Okay, I can't load pics and apparently can't delete this post now. Lovely.
  4. Hi everyone. I am still waiting on KS to get my armor to me (It's a month late) but I just finished my flight suit and vest and wanted to see if everything was ok. Please let me know if there is anything I need to change. The pic of the back of the vest is backwards so it seems wrong. It is right over left on the back. The patches and mud flap is faux suede but I am probably going to replace it with real suede since I am not completely happy with the way it looks now.
  5. Even though I am new here, I have been in uniform for more than 22 years. I have to say that I agree with this. These are basic items that this costume should have. I have been waiting on my armor to arrive from KS for a while now and have taken that time to get everything in order that I can. Including sewing the patches on my flight suit and beginning my vest. I have no interest in going Lancer but I that is only because I think nylon straps and non carved boot soles look fine. And my only argument there is that uniform items evolve and change, even in the Empire (hence different looks of tk's for different movies) and I have seen a lot of small differences over the years in uniforms that were still acceptable. But I will say that I don't think anyone would go out without protective gear such as a flak vest in combat (too many pesky rebels out there for that). So why not make sure it is part of your costume? It does look good and I imagine helps with the shoulder bells fitting properly for those of us who are smaller in stature. Anyway, sorry for the rambling but this is just my opinion and I say well done.
  6. Looking at the new CRL, I noticed that it now requires the bolt covers to be changed to the flat type. I know that this was previously required for admission to lancer. Is this now required for basic admission to the legion? I had not planned to go for lancer even though I will have the vest and patches on the flight suit. I just didn't want to screw up my expensive helmet by attempting to modify it for this small detail.
  7. Thanks! I ordered them today. I appreciate the help.
  8. I am getting a KS helmet as well. I know I need to replace the snout, but which decals need to be replaced?
  9. Thanks a lot guys for the input. I always like to know what I am getting into. This helped a bunch.
  10. Hi all, I am eagerly awaiting my armor while working on gathering and making everything I need to jump right in to trooping. I have read several threads where scouts talk about how hot it is wearing the costume. I have never worn the costume but have worn body armor and kevlar helmets. My question is for the men and women who have worn body armor. Is the scout trooper hard and soft armor any worse than wearing body armor in terms of heat? I know the weight will be quite different but I want to be prepared for what the costume is like. Thanks again. Matt.
