Brown Shoe polish works a treat on the boot's & Ash works well on the Bund.
-
Is anyone out there with an Altmann's able to let me know how it compares size wise with any other lid's they may have or previously owned please?
-
Nice work Luis, was the intent for Blaster carbon type damage? It looks like you've been driven over by the Zamboni at the End of the 2nd Period I used a Brown 'splatter' on my Boot's but then I wanted a more Organic weathering with Browns/Green's.
-
That was my worry Luis, I don't remember seeing any scouts looking quite that weathered. Believe me if I could get away with it i'd have my scout a cross between a Kashyyyk & a Whitey. "Rat Scout...."
-
Luis Show us the finished effort's brother + Are you doing the Boot's too? + Will you have to resubmit the pic's for clearance?
-
Folks Just to clarify - An Altmann's is (much?) smaller than a KS, correct? Is an Altmann's likely to fit a size 60 EU head?
-
I can't stand shiny White...mine will be on the border of what's permitted too.
-
Amen to that brother!
-
Is that your main kit Luis or a spare?
-
My bad Mark, move along...nothing to read here...

Your vid is very helpful. Thanks for sharing Lou. -
Looks superb, well done.

That's lovely work Mark, nice & Neat as Leo said. Kudos.

Nice one Lou, be watching how your build pans out for sure.

Ahh I see. Thanks guys. I have the same problem with Crash helmet's & had exactly the same problem in the Army, my head's clearly Orc Like.... The problem I have is that the gap on the actual lid itself where it clears the ears (bottom point's of the lid that sit about jaw level) has only 6" clearance & it dig's into my ears when putting it on. Yet is loose once on. I'm hoping then that the KS one (being plastic) has a bit of give in it & will enable me to avoid the Migraines getting it on. Ta fella's I've also just found John's very worthy Thread (PM sent btw John).
-
Hi John thanks for the head's up, do you have a MLC then? I thought they were Fibreglass?
-
Thank Ken appreciate it. That could well be the route forward then. I'll give them a shout.
-
Hi all I'm a lid short of a full costume as unfortunately the one I bought it too small. It's a Fibreglass one & I'm hoping for some advice on which lid's come up 'Big'. I'm a meathead with a size 60 (not certain what this equates to in American speak), If anyone else have any recommendation's I'd really appreciate them as i'm hoping to be ready for my first troop at the end of October. Many Thanks

Love the idea.

& then promptly bought a Fibreglass set ... just waiting on Boot's + Pistol now

I have spent most of today sewing & have reached an understanding with the Overlocker & Sewing Machine, to say I am proficient would be a bare faced lie. I think it just gave up due to my persistence & let me finish it in the end. This is the end result of my alterations to my Dickies Boiler Suit (a little under £15) & some Suede + Elastic from Fleabay. The plan was/is to get my outfit together as frugally as possible so I can both stay married + enjoy my hobby I appreciate I could have skipped the suede/elastic being 'Lancer spec', but figured I only want to sew once, so may as well do it now. The Suede patching looks odd as I appear to have bizarre measurements, my wife kindly calls me Mr Tumble it looks okay actually on. Just Boot's & Pistol to go now, can't wait...

What about 'Niko's team' ones Steve? http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=5935

Thanks Chimei, I was considering how to weight the bottom out. I'll look into it.
