  1. Started with polyester webbing but I have redone my thigh straps with white cotton. So I adjusted the length on either sides of the black buckles to make it all look more balanced. It takes time because you need to look at how people do it with their own belts, also watch a lot of movie stills. That helped me a great deal. You can't see the sewing lines because I did it by hand and managed to hide the thread within the cotton fabric... Adjustable with velcro behind the front plate: I also added slack inside the thigh boxes in case I want to use a pin in there if need be...
  2. Hey! Good plan to get started with the boots since they're not the easiest part of the costume by far. I haven't done any carving in my soles because I suck at using a knife. The rib cuts in the reference pics aren't really as deep as the ones you made but I guess you can go with your own style, adapting to your own boots and making them look good. Keep it up!
  3. I have a cheap roll of window tinting film that I use for my cars so I plan on using some of it for my visor if it's not dark enough... I ordered a KS helmet, we shall see.
  4. The extra material at the top is a nice touch. I'm glad you posted this, it will certainly help me if I need to modify my commissioned bund since I don't really know how well it'll fit me.
  5. Awesome! Good alternative to using the bund pouches if you want to leave them nice and square.
  6. That's true. I'm glad I tested the fit before cutting the toe part because I had stretched it way too tightly.
  7. Congrats Chex! =) My sympathies.
  8. I got them in Small the other day as well. Snug fit for my tiny hands but loose around the wrists. I guess that's normal for that kind of shape.
  9. Your pictures in the forest were the first ones that I looked at when I joined BSN. So happy for you!
  10. First I want to say that I'm very excited to be here as a future Scout from France! I've been dreaming about getting my armor on for years and only now am I really getting started. I've ordered the parts, they should be on their way in several weeks and I can't wait! But my question is: how does the chest plate fit for "full breasted" ladies? I have D cups so I'm planning to get a really tight sports bra so that the chest piece doesn't pop out too much and sits high enough on me (over elbow level... by the way I'm 5'4). Still, I'd like to know if there are other girls in my situation who managed to get by with mods if those are needed in the boob area And I hate "bubble armor", so let's get that out of the way. This is probably anticipation and senseless worrying because I don't have the armor set in hand yet. Anyway, thanks for reading! This place is awesome, I've learned so much since I joined.
