Depending on the part your wanting to strengthen will require a different technique to strengthen or reinforce. If you’re looking at a basic level then just spare parts of whatever your kit is made of and two part epoxy. Place strips over the seams to build up an extra layer of thickness and apply the epoxy.

I can vouch for Spikes Altmann Helmets. Mine arrived not long back and it’s amazing quality. I have a slightly larger size head and it fits me comfortably.

Hey guys, How do you guys attach your pouches? I’m torn between: 1. Permanently attaching to the cummerbund. 2. Permanently attach to the chest Armour. 3. Just Velcro to the chest Armour. 4. Just Velcro to the cummerbund. Any advice / guidance would be greatly appreciated, and if possible could you provide pictures. Thanks.

I’m just lookin at different ways of mounting the TD onto my belt. Ideas so far: Magnets Snaps Hooks Also for affixing my pouches to both armour and cummerbund.

Hey guys, Now I know a lot of you use snaps etc but can you tell me where you get them from? Found some here in the UK but they seem really crappy and don’t really snap good and requires a lot of effort to snap them together. Thanks

Do whatever you can afford to do! Advice for washing though, place in a pillowcase and seal with elastic band prior to washing! 15yrs of wearing and washing military flight suits so know a few tricks lol, also only wash on a 30 degree setting as it will preserve badges and stitching etc.

Hey Chopper, With regards to the trading, what are you expecting trade wise? Unfortunately I have no Star Wars related patches but I do have an obundance of military patches from my 15yrs in the Air Force. Would this be of interest?

Hey guys, Quick question about pouch placement. Is the pouch supposed to be: a) touching the outer stitch lines? Or approx 1 1/2 away from outer stitch line?

Snug just like a proper motorbike helmet, in fact it’s actually more comfortable than my bike helmet and I paid £800 for that ? It’s secured in with industrial Velcro so can be made to fit tighter or looser depending on your head size.

Extremely comfortable it’s soft like foam padding but has more substance if you know what I mean.

Well today was like Xmas all over again, my Altmann finally arrived after a short wait. So happy to finally have my Scout Helmet, now I have everything to finish my Scout build. Thanks to Spike, the workmanship is amazing and it looks brilliant!!! Would definitely recommend his services to anyone looking for a great helmet. I couldn’t help myself but had to take the mandatory helmet selfie lol.
