You pretty much got it spot on Tom. Lets see the bar get raised. -
The number is my Legion ID #. Makes for easy Id incase another trooper picks it up. We are starting to get a few clones here. BTW, the hottie is Megan Fox, from Transformers.

Hi Troopers, We have found it hard to aquire clone blasters, any blasters actually, in Australia, due to strict importation laws. However the TAG 2IC, TK-J has been making some great DC-15's which I got 1 long and 1 short of. These are going to go well with my KST. I just need to touch up the paint and weather them.

Tom, back to the belt. How much, or what length will be supplied in the kit? -
I was planning to use the same material as the vest, just reinforcing the pouches with thin plastic that can be sewn through. That will give the pouches shape, strength and functionability. In regards to painting I was planning to use my airbrush as it has the precision for the correct pattern and I know for a fact the color will not come out, as past experiance has shown me.

Looking awesome there Tom. Just an idea, not being sure about the width or depth of the belt, but instead of doing the 2 colors or painting, would black webbing be able to be glued inside the recessed parts of the belt to give it the right color and texture? -
Hey guys, I had a go at the conversion. I grew up with the metric system so I did the best I could. Measurements may be a couple of mm out. I didn't do all the measurements on every drawing but if it is not on one drawing the same measurement is bound to be on another drawing. Like I said beforehand, its not gospel but it is what works for me on my frame. Just do what works for you. Cheers.

Yeah, I know. I have about 3 different pairs that I am working with. That was just for illustration only, not the final pair. I have a pair of leather gloves to use, I just need to make the padding on the back of the hand and knuckles bigger. Thanks for the input.
-
Hi, I have seen that the glove thread has stalled so I decided to have a go myself at the glove. I made up some molds for the padding on the back of the hand and the nuckles and a mold for the bit on the wrist / arm. This was my first crack at ever pouring silicone. Usuallly I completely SNAFU things but I was pretty happy with my first go. Next time I need to do the color lighter and work more to get rid of the bubbles. Thanks for looking. Feedback please.

I know 25.4 mm = 1 inch. Thats about it for me. I hate maths.

OK Guys. I got onto a friends computer and used an autocad program for the first time. I drew up some rough images of what the pouches look like to me with guesstimate measurements. I based the rough size on me and how the pouches would look on me in relation to the Image supplied. I am 177cm tall and 87kg so that should give you an idea of my build. All measurements are in mm (metric). My maths sucks so I didn't convert it. I also worked out the measurements between each pouch but I will update that later. Again I am no pro but this is just a rough draft for me to work off. I hope it helps.

Super job. I just weathered a pair of DC 15's myself, but instead of using silver paint, I used a lead pencil. It will take longer but the graphite in the pencil gives off a really nice bare metal finish. Apply it to the edges where something would weather naturally. Graphite powder and cue tips do the same job. The key I found was to be subtle and not over do it.
-
Yeah, I got that too. Just converting my guesstimate measurements from mm to inches.
-
Is it just me or do the 8 grenade pouches on the side have a slight curve to them?
-
I found it still up on the Dented helmet, last week.
-
I reckon the front and back pouches are the same, making that 4 that size and shape. They do look different but if you look closer they appear to be about the same distance down from the top in relation to the 4 (8) side grenade pouches. Just my 2 cents.

Freaking awesome work dude. Keep it up. -
That would make 3 of us. I am going to work on some templates during the week. I will update as soon as I have something. I am going of my old army kit for measurements.

MB KST armor kit interest list.
Holdfast replied to mrbungle's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
Thanks for putting me down on the list. I appreciate it. Don't forget I am needing the bucket as well. I will pay the whole lot in one go on tuesday via paypal. I just don't trust myself with the funds, otherwise I might buy another set of armor! -

Freakin sweet. This is like being a kid again on Christmas eve. Keep up the great work. -
I have been on the lookout for boots for the KST. Below are a couple of links. Let me know what you think. http://www.platatac.com/www/182/1001127/di...--1116529_.html http://www.platatac.com/www/182/1001127/di...--1024450_.html

Kashyyyk Trooper Gloves Discussion
Holdfast replied to Acrylikhan's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
I am thinking that the glove is done by using a short gauntlet style leather glove with an extra addition to the gauntlet, maybe 3 inches, using the same material as the undersuit, with the rubber greeblie added to that. Just my opinion. -

Ok, time to be a man and admit that I made a mistake regarding the coloring of the pouches. They are mostly painted the same as the armor. Mostly. The color scheme is similar to the armor, however I found that the base color is an off white / bone color whereas on the armor it is a buff / desert sand color. The color scheme with the green and brown is the same on all with the exception of the drop boxes ( what they call it on the TB ) having only the brown. Even though the pattern is the same for the pouches there are differances. These being: 2 centre pouches (back) - heavily weathered with light to medium up to dark grey. My suggestion is to do the base cam pattern and use grey tone pastils to get the desired effect (mix with windex and brush on, then seal with flat clear). 4 Mag pouches (2 front, 2 back) - clean, by that I mean off white base color with regular cam pattern same as hard armor. Minimal, if any weathering. 2 small pouches above front mag pouches - Same as mag pouches however subjected to the same green ink wash as the hard armor. 8 Grenade pouches - Same as the 4 mag pouches however subjected to the same green ink wash as the hard armor. 2 Drop boxes - Off white with brown cam pattern, not too much though, clean with minimal weathering. Also in regards to the cam on the armor, on almost all the hard armor there appears to be a lot of places where the paint has been chipped or worn away exposing a bare metal finish. Might I suggest after the primer is applied and before the base color is applied using a light gunmetal paint to give a realistic worn paint effect. This can be achieved by using anything from Marmite to toothpaste to liquid latex. Simply apply to the area you wish the bare metal to be exposed and spray your base color over. Disclaimer - I am not an expert however what I typed above is from conclusions drawn from spending a great deal of time studying the movie with the scenes featuring the KST paused on a big screen TV. If anyone has a better source then please pipe up and let me know.
