  1. anyone got any veiws?
  2. Or these, slightly cheaper, and have a nice shape to the arch, but could be modified more with a knife to exagerate it.
  3. never even spotted that thumb pad! good eyes!!!! They have another, I personally am shining towards The pad on the back can be removed, hidden by the scratch built padded gauntlet extention. Dunno why, but I like the second better They have an American outlet too! Alauda Centurion Inc www.alaudacenturion.com Tel: 866-7-ALAUDA http://www.cpe-production.fi/englanti/index.php?sivu=rgl03 Thats the site I found, the "contacts" list distributors everywhere, so finally ,something cheap (hopefully) for all of us! lol
  4. I agree with it being of a similar look to the molle vests around, but the strappings all wrong. THe Molle system runs horizontally, where as the barc system seems to run vertically, although i'd love to find the simple way to make one, it seems to me its too different to be used without removing all the strapping and re attaching it vertically. Agreed on the pouches ArmyScout, smaller ones in abs, larger ones, in material
  5. http://www.cpe-production.fi/englanti/index.php?sivu=rg106 going to ring the company in a minute, see how much they are
  6. Just found these, with a little work on the scalpel these look promising! what do you guys think??
  7. I still think the closest existing cammo match to the barc is UK desert cammo, but darkened with brown dye, thats what i'm going with, hopefully going to have a crack at dying a set this weekend, (hopefully once I have one Mikes auction) Nice find though Phil, but I dont think they will dye to well, the colour might go a tad weird
  8. Deffo, kudos on your quest! I have the same armour as yours Blue, SC, and mine has been a labour of love, slow and very painfull at times, but worth it in the end!
  9. I was leaving it for Chris to bro
  10. kk, fingers crossed then! Could you do me a favour and post a close up of your tank topper mate? cheers (I have the same make armour as you! )
  11. lol, I was just about to post the same image Phil! Oh deffo, sorry, I didnt make it too clear b4, you can use an airbrush to aply the paint, but to get the finish shown, its easier to replicate with the rag effect when overlapping layers. If you use a sea sponge (or a man made equiv= cheeper) it gives a great mottling effect and replicates the cammo style very well!
  12. IMO no, the paint scheme on the barc isnt clinical, its deffinatly not angled and uniform, a good old sponge and rag are whats needed to replicate this paint work, not an air brush or stensils.
  13. The Motm exibit was made with a lot of broken "bits" in a box given to an art student! please dont say your taking the standards off that! Yes, there was a scout with ribs on his nappy, but there were also more without (six ribs, 7 stitches) Just wondering if the TK's in the leigon would all have to buy SDS to be "elite", or would one of LFL's display peices be the standard... a rubies stormtrooper...
  14. Fair comment, but the gentle giant bust wasnt in the film! I have heavily modified DP helmets to a standard that challenges most (not all) custom lids out there, I'm all for raising the bar, but specifying no DP lids, and "only hero look" is a bit "specific imo.
  15. Just a query, any reason why cant have a cummerband without stitching? there was only one scout with stitching, the stunts did not *Edit* Don't shoot me if i'm wrong, I can dig out the ref pics if you want.
  16. its not just my eyes though, the one on the right is deffinatly smaller, but still a scout pack.
  17. Oh I agree, they are "similar" from a glance at distance, but massively different side by side. What confused me was the photo of 2 biker scout back plates and humps that TB6675 posted. I hope he hasnt been sold simply a smaller biker back plate, marketed as a barc peice!
  18. erm i'm confused those are just two biker backs, slightly differing in scale.....
  19. Rob, theres some top work there! that ribbed elastic is gonna save HOURS from the machining time! Lovin it mate!
  20. just my ten pence worth, Got to say, I agree with the veiw that its based on a desert pattern, but darker. This image is closest to British DPM, something I have worn far too many times, lol And this image (SS) has a definate brown pattern, with either a grey/green, or black/green wash, or dye. no other specific colours are jumping out, and its deffo not flecktarn, I use that for airsoft and its not that! The British Desert Dpm is very similar in pattern, I'm going to play around with some dyes on the weekend and see how close I can get
