fair do's mate, you dont miss a beat!
-
hmm, yeh, there is some sort of detailing in the material, but surely common sense should prevail over a guess, based on a blurred CGI image, thats the problem, we are working on something that simply doesnt exsist, but to make it exsist, we have to turn to real world comparables, to create what an artist drew.

british desert camo, standard issue mate. this is the cheepest ANYWHERE I can find, I can't even beat that if I get new issue stuff, as my mates still have to pay for what they sign for! http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PEELYSCOMBATS-SHOP

confused as to why peeps are going for leather? I cant recall ever seeing any horse riders ect using leather wear patches, nor did the scouts have leather, but suede.
-
Ah Mike, yet again, OUTSTANDING work! sweeeeeeeet!

spooky! starting work on my vest today! Loving the kit mate, perfectly packed, and I have seen all parts of the spectrum now, from bad, all the way up to yours! Hey, your the one that deserves the credit for the auction, that was one of the nicest thigs I have seen ANYONE do!, only too happy to take full advantage of the currency exchange! Now does anyone know a good voodoo doctor who can shrink skulls?

Lets talk Cod piece - Soft or Hard part ?
TB5994 replied to pghfett's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
Nah, its deffo a Fett style hard peice, there are similarities from his armour to most of the clones, kinda makes sense, seeing as they are based on him (boots, well the tread ect) the Biker was a next Gen version, they would have evolved to soft (nappy) armour, based on thier role. I'm going to pull one in abs, sew it to the chest rig and loosely attach it with elastic underneath, well, thats the plan..... -
sadly no, I cant find anyone that actually stocks them, for some reason the distributor cant tell me either!?!?
-
Pm sent matey, sorry, been on a suprise hols for my Birthday

that seriously makes me sick! might have a natter in the ear of a friend of mine, he works "indirectly" for Lucas, closing pricks like him down!

-
man, i'm clawing the walls!!!!! I cant wait!!!
-
awesome, as long as we are all "singing from the same song sheet!"

Started to work on the "wear patches" on the leg, the one peice pannel bit, anyone got any veiws? I'm going for a moleskin suede dark tan (fake, so you can machine wash it) wondered what anybody else was thinking of using. Seeing as riding jodphurs and Biker Scouts use suede on the inner thigh. Leather is not right, it won't sit naturally and would fold.

there were pockets, I unstitched them to use as tester and control peices. Anyone heard from Mike? Got his combats here, just waiting on a mailing address to send them to him, poss his mailbox is full?
-
yup, do NOT BUY online for british desert combats!!!! Most will be cheap "knock offs" in poly cotton, and only the cotton will dye! I can locally purchace, and possibly still blag what I can from mates still serving. I wont charge for my services, All I need are sizes and I can buy locally, you guys cover shipping and the price of the combats and we're good to go! If this is my small contribution to helping get an awesome squad of Barcs off the ground, then happy to help!
-
nah trust me, i'll get these shipped to Mike asap, he'll be able to confirm the greyer area is darker in the flesh. The combats I have used are a shirt and trouser combo, have both dyed exactly the same, well happy with the match. these will both be very easy to tighten around the arms and legs, as there is no pockets on them and they are like simple trousers, very easy to alter with a cheap sewing machine Phil, you should easily be able to get this on the roll, its standard british army desert combats.

Bargin, only £23.99! bout $50, and 2 minutes with the dremel! (I painted the arch a muddy grey colour, to darken the arch, give it the depth)
-
Here we go! I used Dylon "chocolate brown" in the packet form, 400g cost about £2.50, $5! turned the darker pattern a nice brown colour, the lighter, a greyish tan, perfect! really REALLY chuffed how it came out! I did two sets, one with half the powder, one with the lot, thinking the second would be too dark, but i'm happier with the second batch! I might now try and find a redish brown to achieve the tinge you can see in the pics, not a very military colour scheme (i'm happy enough with the second batch) but the first batch, with the lighter shade will be a perfect "test bed" for future dye runs. The flash has killed the depth of the colour a bit, but I personally will be sticking with this, as the pattern in my eyes is closest to canon, and the colour is ney on spot on! The ones on the left are batch one, a nice colour, but I wanted it slightly darker, the right hand ones were spot on! (the boonie is there to show the original colour!

Another major breakthrough!!!!! Found these by fluke on one of my latest web searches, and the company is litterally 16 miles from my house! so popped round, bought a pair, pulled out the dremel and carved a huge arch in them! they look bang on! and are a nice light grey/tan suede, perfect! Again still havent got the camera (its in a box somewhere) but tomorrow i'll post some pics of them modded, they worked out REALLY well, and cheap as chips too! only £23.99 bout $50! anyone want some, gimmie a shout and I will post them for you!

Just had a resounding sucess with the search for the perfect undersuit/combats! As I had thought, British Desert combats dyed brown (Dylon Chocolate Brown, machine wash) turn out almost perfect! The combats I had lying about from Iraq, the dye, £2.99! ($6) 1 hour later and the colour match/ paterns 99% perfect!.... prob is, i'm still unpacking from my move, so as yet, cant find my camera! BUT, tomorrow, I promise I will post pics of the finished suit, shity and trousers. Trust me, they look sweeeeet, especially now as I have removed the pockets too!
