Southscout
So, my softparts are all done since I just received my flak vest from the very talented Diana Here are all the parts, except the pouches but we all know how they look. Comments, suggestions?
Griffin-X
The fit looks good, nice job. You may consider attaching the bund to the vest (Velcro, snaps, etc) or even suspenders. The bund tends to have "slippage" and come down when you troop.
Southscout
Yup, I have suspenders on the bund, it's just covered by the vest now. We don't want slippage with kids around.. Is the vest going over or under the bund? Oh yeah, go Rangers btw..
Griffin-X
Good call! Typically, the vest is under the bund. Then the chest/back is over the vest, and so on.
4505Marcel
Looks a pretty good fit to me mate top job
Southscout
Thanks Marcel, it's your good job behind it. Here's a picture of the suspenders/braces. Maybe it will help someone looking for a solution to "slippage". It's webbing, not elastic.
Chex
Call it personal choice, but I serious hate suspenders on a scout. I'd just sew some velcro on the vest and bund. Less to worry about, and you don't have to worry about suspender straps being seen overlapping your shoulder. Only draw back to that is having to have someone pull the bund up in the back to the velcro. But yeah, vest under the bund. The fit is great. The chevron on the bund is a little high and it should be arced more instead of coming to a point, but nothing that would keep you from getting approved. Guest Look sir. Droids!
The fit looks good, nice job. You may consider attaching the bund to the vest (Velcro, snaps, etc) or even suspenders. The bund tends to have "slippage" and come down when you troop. From what you describe, boot keepers might work. You can get them at any motorcycle shop. Just a clip on each end of an elastic strap used to keep your pants from rising too far when you ride. You clip one side of your pant leg, run the strap under your boot and clip the other side.
Griffin-X
I've got velcro on my vest/bund so that the bund can attach and stay in place. I tried the suspender method for a while and recently switched it up. I like this method much better.
