I need your opinion on my finsihed helmet

Recommended Posts

Here is my (almost) completed KS Helmet!

Whew! It was hard to do - but it looks pretty good (not great)

I have to put the gray screw covers on and velcro the visor down and that should be about it.

I guess I also need to paint the upper half of the snout greeblie gray.

Did I do it right?

Hopefully there are no major mods to be done

Would this be approvable?

Thanks!

Not too bad, I would change the decals to a better quality set, change the nose detail and add a back plate to the nose section, paint the inner nose recess with black matt spray paint making it stop at half way in the nose flat surface.

I would cut the inside visor about another 2-3mm to almost remove the second return edge taking care not to take any more off and keeping the visor rounded in the corners.

The eyes are too W shaped and I would cut them a bit more in certain areas, sanding the edge to make it a bit smoother than what you have. The edge where you cut to is not so correct.

Look at the gallery pics under original helmet pics to get a better idea how to trim the eyes, any questions just ask.

Dont know if you're required to redo the fish hook to get it approved, but I would do it anyway. And if you do as LW sugest and get better decals, it would be a no-brainer ;)

Okay - general consensus is better decals - where do I pick these up?

How do I order an MC snout?

I'm confused about trimming the eyes - do I just need to make the top edge straighter?

Thanks so much for the input!
