Guest UnderpaidSoldier Posted May 12, 2012 Share Posted May 12, 2012 I looked up previous threads on the visor material for my helmet, but I'm not sure if the shade 5 or 3 material is flimsly (like paper) or thicker (plastic). If I were to buy shade 5 or 3, would I have to attach it to a plastic piece and attach the shade to it to prevent any type of warping of the material? Thanks in advance. lonewolf Posted May 16, 2012 Share Posted May 16, 2012 For my visors I use 3mm dark tinted acrylic/perspex. It is very easy to see out of and impossible to see into. Great all round visor material imo. The only problem is having to heat it up to fit the faceplate shape. As fo heating it up - I just banged it in the oven (keep checking it) until it bacame maluable then held it round a pan/pot with a similar circumference bend to the inside of my bucket until it cooled......repeat until happy!!
