Guest UnderpaidSoldier
Hello gang, I recently purchased this racing suit in black (http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Safety-Racing-Proban-Single-Layer-One-Piece-Economy-Suit,2466.html), however there is a gray piece on the mid-torso section (which is not shown on the image). I have some questions for those who have own this particular suit: 1) Do you have to die the leg and wrist elastic cuffs from white to black? Or does it really matter since it'll be covered by the gloves and boots? 2) How difficult was it to remove the gray mid-torso section (front side only) from the suit? 3) Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks in advance.
Chef
Hey Dallas, I don't own that suit, but making an educated guess, you probably won't "need" to dye the cuffs, because like you say, they will be covered by the gloves and boots. Although you may want to, just out of a sense of completeness. The torso section may not need to be removed, as it is likely that it will be covered over by the cummerbund. Obviously you'll need to try this with the bund before you can be sure of this bit. If there are any patches, zips, pockets or other such things that are visible, then they'll need to be removed. Then you'll need to add your suede patches, flap and straps on. that's about it.
Guest UnderpaidSoldier
Upon further investigation, they apparently sent me the wrong item (http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Safety-Racing-Proban-One-Piece-Suit,2461.html), while the receipt actually lists the correct item. I'll be exchanging it for the correct one.
