New Scout: Question about MC armor ordering

Recommended Posts

I've decided on MC armor and have been in contact with them. Just got my tax refund so ordering this weekend hopefully.

Just wondering if I should order any extras to the Regular full armor kit? I'm getting a KS helmet, and it seems everyone changes the snout to MC. Is there anything else I should order? (Just for regular scout, not Lancer)

Thanks!

Well, I can't remember if MC includes a snout with the armor. If he does, for the KS bucket you'll want the snout with the backer plate so make sure you ask for that one. MC pretty much includes everything else, but right now everyone seems to be ordering the TD greeblies from DJ over in the UK (myself included). Now you have to know that completing your build and getting it approved, especially with MC armor, you'll be pretty darn close to Lancer. Why not just go for it right off the bat. Aim high!!!!! We need a Lancer in the BAG.

I went for Lancer straight off the bat with an MC........ooooooh I got close. The main issue with the MC kit is attaching the TD - he offers two large Alice Clips which are great for practicality but not accepted for Lancer.

With respect to the snout, I wan't keen on the MC one actually - if you're getting the TD greeblie from DJ get a snout too, IMO his have the best detail

Sorry to correct you Grant but Alice clips are accepted for Lancer (I know i wrote it) as they were used on the oringinals in the movie, yes they are smaller than the ones provided by MC but still alice clips, For lancer we will accept tie wraps or clips but personally i like to see clips on a Lancer scout.

What size alice clips were used in the movie?

Not at the moment thats what we are trying to find out, also it may not be the ones in the photo, but it is something like it, this is one of the great things about the scout cosy even after 2-3 years of research there still things to find out, unlike costumes like the TK as its all there vac formed from the original, we have to find out ourselves that for me is one of the many resons why i love the scout, we think it's pritty much the same as the TK set-up

I still prefer the tie wrap only option for attaching the TD and that is what I would look for in a lancer at this point. Its anouther area that needs alot of reasearch untill we know EXACTLY whats what. Post away with screen grabs in this thread and see if its anouther area we can clear up. Moncals in my eyes are way to big and are too in yor face visually.

"I just double checked again as I thought the clips were not in the CRL, and they are not at this time. In the past we have said no to them as we were never sure, but again lets reasearch this with blue ray still and once discussed and nailed down I will put them in."

Me too - if I can get my clips accepted then I'm pretty sure I'm as good as lancer.

What about if the clips are painted white to blend with the belt?

Ooooops apols for hyjacking thread - I'll start a new one on thios subject........ http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9330
