Hi guys/ladies

Thought i'd show you my heavily modified rubies helmet, using Frank's(acrylikhan) blog as a guide(http://daemonkhan.br...com/entry/42955)

It's taken nearly a year from start to finish(got fed up with it and left it in the box) and was very nearly thrown in the bin twice as I snapped the visor in half trying to straighten it,then broken the visor and faceplate when re-riveting the two back together again, which is now glue together instead.

Check out the photos of the original out of the box look and now the finished look,I'm hoping to get it lancer spec approved.

Do you out there think it will be good enough

very nice... I think you might need the rest of the bucket though.... hehehehehhe.

Just goes to show, even a sows ear can be turned into a silk purse.

The lens might need to be a bit darker though, just seems a bit 'see through'.

Very good job sir ! i always like to see a well modded Rubies as to my knowledge they were cast from an original lid but then adapted for the toy/collectors market, and one done well has all the proper facial features baring the larger forehead space wich was compromised by Rubies "this is nice bud one of the best i've seen for a while"

I've spent the last 2-3 years with John D (Lone Wolf) analizing Scout lids, and how you have slimed it down and "Put the curves in" is awesome weldone, i don't like the new fad of filling in the gap between the face plate and visor that eveybody seams to be doing at the mo, but i'am looking forward to see the lid finished dude :)

Cheers super mods,I only filled the gap in because when I cut the faceplate down I cut too much off the cheeks and didnt look vey nice.
