Hello BSN folks,

Iam currently in the process of weathering my new MC kit. Iam aiming for a "screen-used/accurate" weathering. I tried various weathering techniques, but spraying them from a distance with a can of paint seems to give the best effect. After doing some research i started to like the weathering, in my opinion it gives the costume more "life" and character to it. Anyway, below is a picture (sorry for the bad quality) of my current weathering. Please let me know what you think. I didn't wanna go overboard with it, so i used various pictures of original scouts.

I agree. It looks like a good start. Remember less is more, so don't go too overboard. You can always add more weathering later.

nice weathering. it reminds me of the same weathering the screen used helmets had. or at least the one from the review video; not sure if every scout helmet was weathered the same way :S

After viewing loads and loads of movieshots, it seems almost every scout is weathered different. Some have pretty heavy weathering and some only show light weathering. Iam aiming for a "mild" weathering on mine, though i want it to look like the screen scouts. More pictures will be added soon!

Thanks Eric, yes, i don't plan om going "extreme", what's seen in the movie is my goal. Remember the weathering Witness got on his TB?, thats my aim.

Awesome, can't wait to see how it turns out. Here's the helmet I'm talking about, I don't know if you've seen this video before, but if you haven't enjoy. If you HAVE, still, again, enjoy :P

Your kit looks amazing Andy, i really like the LW helmet in the first picture! Excellent!

Anyway, i just checked some shots from the film and noticed that they HAVE weathered t-bits.. I think i nailed the weathering spot on so far.

Thanks Berry :) i've updated most of my kit past lancer but have been stuck waiting for my MC armour (It's in customs as we speak) so just need to finish off, my best buddy and trooping pal AT-AT driver Aaron is a photographer and he's seid he'll do some shots for me so i'll pop them on here.

To my understanding the "T" bits were made from the same light colour resin as the snout and painted, the weathering was due to the amount of abuse the armour took from the stunt guys

Awesome, i love my new MC kit, i also had a SC kit before this. I lightly weathered the "T" bits and i glued my new TD greeble on (With the help of an extra ABS plastic strip) Coming weekend my armor should be fully done. Iam taking picture by then, and i will definatly place these on here. Thanks for your support so far! :) Cheers,

Thanks me old,

Hears a tip from Andys tool box LOL, if you want a good weathered look on webbind and pouchies use boot polish but do no brush it on, have a small amount on your thumb and finger and rub those fingers together with fabric inbetween do the on parts that would have natural wear like tops of pouchies. it takes time but done well looks awesome ;)
