batninja
I'm planning on purchasing a KS helmet kit in the near future, but had a question on construction. I've seen the Altmann's helmet in the past, and there was a seam along the back of the dome, where the dome meets the back piece. I understand the KS helmet is done the same way. Was the original screen-used helmet constructed this way? Or was it one-piece? In other words, in order to match the screen-used helmet, would I need to putty/sand the seam and paint the helmet? Is there a good shot of the original helmet to support this?
Cyber Scout
The helmet was a 5 peice constrution with the seam running down the center of the the lid. if you have a look at my Lone Wolf Helmet build thread i built it to original spec so hope that helps, Yes it is prefered if the gap at the back is filled and sanded out. there are tons of original lid shots also in the gallery bud. batninja
I have contacted said buyer and have been told he is no longer producing helmets. As such, my choices become limited.
Boba Leo
I have contacted said buyer and have been told he is no longer producing helmets. As such, my choices become limited. batninja do not worry, you have two possibilities: KS is a possibility but this lacks chin Cup, the other possibility but a little more expensive is to buy another helmet is also widely accepted and accurate MLC v3 (this includes the chin cup) Here you have two contacts http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8569 Note to Moncal, decals and snout is very accurate, I think that in my humble information, this would be a good option. I hope this helps you, if you need any clarification send me a PM. Leo
