batninja
I'm new here (kinda), and have a couple of questions before I dive into my Scout costume... I've looked through the threads, but couldn't find a definitive answer: is the one-piece (combined) cummerbund/vest approved for Lancer specs, or does it have to be two-piece? Secondly, since I do my own sewing, I plan to do my own pouches, but I make them two-ply for sturdiness. Here are a couple I did for Fett projects: If you'll notice, there is no stitch line to indicate a Velcro closure, visible on the outside flap. I prefer it this way, as it looks nicer. Aside from the dimensions, which I'll work on later, is this design an approved look for Lancer?
Cyber Scout
I think the Vest and bund combo is down to personal preferrence bud, it dose not effect the overall apperence of the costume and for some people they find it an easyer for trooping, might be an idea when constructing them to take pics of both bits before sewing them together for your lancer app, as for your pouches "Nice work dude" awesome quality, and yes they will be fine as they are and i'd be happy to clear them
LadySewForUs
Heya Eric! Good to see you here! Your belt pouches as well as your Boba Fett vests are and have always been exemplary. Just outstanding!
batninja
Hey, Debbi, thanks for the welcome and the compliment! Yeah, you know I always have to do things MY way, so I thought I'd better ask before I set needle to thread.
4505Marcel
I do mine the same way 2 ply, but sew mine up and then turn them inside out and iron flat to loose the external stitching which gives it a cleaner look in my opinion ;0) Yours are pretty darn neat though bud
batninja
Yeah, I do the same with mine, but I add the top-stitching to the edge the keep a more defined edge. Great minds think alike! Another thing: I noticed the pattern posted on the website is split into parts; my pattern is all one piece. I'll post a diagram once I map out the new dimensions.
