irob972
hey guys i am looking to get one of the black flight suits from ted's military and was wondering what mods need to be done to the suit?can it be made acceptible for lancer status? ~rob
lonewolf
Hi Rob, I had a flight suit and took the pockets, zips, and other loop bits off it.They are light and quite nice fitting but I have since changed it to a racing suit/racing overalls. Look up Ebay for racing overalls, it shouldn't be much more expensive compared to the flight suit, the size range is better and the suit is possibly more accurate than a flight suit, with a lot less to strip off it. All types of undersuit, boiler worksuit/flight suit/racing suit all need the riding patch, 2" elastic thigh straps and mudflap after the initial mods. Here is my racing overalls, it is all black so no need to worry about dying things black,

Grendel_Blitz
Hey LoneWolf, I did a quick search and nothing like what you are wearing is coming up on eBay. Any leads to brand name and/or online stores to find a pair? Thanks for the info! ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/

Grendel_Blitz
Rock-on brother! Thanks so much. I will check into it as they look much better than the flight suites. Also, while on topic, it looks as it the vest/sleeves are integrated into the suite in the pictures that Army Scout took at the Magic of Myth set. Almost as if there is no true vest. LINK Has this been discussed here much? \m/

If so, did you encounter any issues with the mods? Rock-on brother! Thanks so much. I will check into it as they look much better than the flight suites. Matt - Did you end up getting one of the suits from ebay? (is it an OMP?). Are you happy with what you got? Any issues? Thanks
Southscout
I have an OMP and I'm quite happy with it. It was very easy to remove the pockets. Just unstitch the outside stitches and then open up the legs and unstitch it there, and then sew them up again. The logo patches also came off without any problems. And it's very black Here's a picture I took while undoing the pockets, so they're hanging from the legs: http://s1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg513/Southscout1/?action=view¤t=DSC00116-1.jpg OMP has a new version of the suit but judging from pictures it looks quite similar. Tydirium
Thanks, Patrik. I do like the look of it and it see the OMP name come up the more I look around this sub forum. I wrote to a seller on eBay (JJC) and the shipping fee is £50 GBP to send to me, which is about $78USD... That is almost as much as the suit itself. Has anyone seen these suits sold in the US? I tried eBay, but didn't have much success with my search terms (based around OMP)
Flero
I just picked up a black set of coveralls from SEARs, and some old felt from goodwill. Cheap.

No confirmation though.

pleasum
Hey guys, Just wanted to drop a line on this thread about the Tedsmilitary flight suit. I ordered and received mine. It is FULL of pockets! The thigh pockets are sewn into the seam of the leg which makes it very difficult to seam rip and remove the pockets themselves. There is also a small pocket for a pen which has a snap on the right thight. This snap would need to be removed thus having to patch the hole. This suit will take some work to get it right due to how it is constructed. I am going to work on it, but may be buying the Redkap suit and doing a comparison. I have heard that suit has only four pockets. Just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing that suit! Take care guys!! -Paul
Havok69
So I'm looking at the OMP and the new version has knee pads. Did the older version have these?
