Is It All Needed

Hey Scouts!

I am putting together a Bikerscout costume and was wondering if at first it is all necessary. I am going to buy all the main armor pieces and make the helmet and knees, but was wondering if I could get away with no TD or belt. I'm not trying to get into the 501st just putting together a costume to have some fun with, maybe go to a convention or two. Any of your thoughts are much appreciated.

A belt really is a main part for a TB bro, really the only things you could miss out and still look like a TB would be the vest, and possibly the crotch patches ect.

All the parts should come in the kit unless you are making them yourself

Depends on your definition of necessary. If you aren't going to join the 501st, it's really up to you. If you want to eventually join (and why wouldn't you? LOL), it's best to just do it right the first time and take pride in your work. Taking the time to put quallity in your costume is very self-rewarding.

If you are going to just wear it at conventions, be mindful that most convention-goers know what a Biker Scout should look like, and wonder if you left your belt in the bathroom or something. So, I'd at least finish it up to minimum standards before making appearences.

I'm going to have everything except the thermal detonator and belt. Eventually I will buy them, ( probably within the next 2 months) but wanted to see if you guys thought it would still look enough like a bikerscout to wear to places. Also does anyone one know when Moncal will be back in the shop?

MC is around. He's just busy. He'll get back to you eventually. He's also the one-stop-shop for everything you need, including the belt & TD. :)

And no. I wouldn't wear it until it was finished. That would be kinda like going to the store with no pants on. Just my 2 cents.

The idea of building the helmet didnt work out. Anyone got an extra bucket lying around? Or does anyone know where I can get a Rubies helmet besides ebay and amazon, for less than $100.

MC is alive somewhere. I ordered my kit from him at the start of this month.

Shipping should be about 8-10 weeks.

But if you buy from MC you get it all in one kit, unless you're buying everything seperately, but that just makes it all more expencive.

If you just want a Rubies mask, i suggest you try Ebay, or Google, but i think you would get a better helmet out of pepakura and some dedication.

Hi Sean, a strange first post, I fully understand what you mean't , of course nobody will know what is missing, the public are easily pleased. Please don't costume to please Joe Public, Halloween costumes are easy to do.

I have spent alot of my time almost trying to convince costumed members that the best trooper costume will never be what Joe Public thinks it should look like.

Here some of us want/crave a Biker Scout costume that is as good as the real deal, very very difficult to do.

If you buy an MC Biker Scout kit I guarantee you that you will want to do it "right". The problem is the wait, I waited over 5 months but can happily say it was worth it. Just think , order it now and it will be ready for Halloween!

Joking aside, you don't need to join a 501st club to build an excellent costume, most people are very helpful no matter what costuming club they like to troop with.

Ask us loads of questions, if nobody responds please pm me, good luck future Biker Scout.

Thanks Joe, Hopefully I will have my armor ordered by Saturday. Then I will spend the waiting time gathering all the soft parts making the boots, buying gloves and a helmet. Hopefully by then I will have my armor and be able to start assembly.
