Guest GrendelBlitz
Hey folks, Been a long time and good to be back... I wanted to hear from those that know the Altmann's bucket well enough to give me any insight on any variant runs that may have occurred during their production. There is a bucket that I am looking at and it is supposedly an unmodified Altmann's only used as a display (never Trooping) and it has a CLEAR lens (not amber) and BLACK visor pins (as opposed to the light gray that were standard on all that I have seen). I had an Altmann's bucket years ago and I did not forget these details. Can anyone out there share any knowledge of research, etc.. that may explain these differences. I have inquired about possible modifications and origin of this helmet but have not received word. Thank much! ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/
4505Marcel
As far as I know the Altmans always had an amber lense, certainly all that I have ever seen.
Guest GrendelBlitz
Well, with a bit of questioning the current owner and a bit more Google searching, I found out that the Altmann's in question was formerly (being the second owner) SithlordScout a.k.a sithlord7768 and there are photos posted of the up for sale auction back in 2007. Looks like the bucket has been through some action so I will prolly now bid seeing that it is $400 now and the single bidder has 5 bids of his own in the hat. There are permanent scratches and a break/fix area. Not pristine for such a large cost. Here is the link for posterity purposes. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=2519 ~ G_B \m/
