Darth Voorhees Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Nice thats a great helmet! If ya like symmetry so much though, you may be disappointed in a few of the Star Wars designs LOL! I kid i kid..have fun with that kit...its the best one yet! 1 Quote
Jules Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Thanks guys! What do you mean sellotape Scarcasm? Do I have to stick it together? Cant I just hold it on my head? It would be easier. Ha ha. Quote
4505Marcel Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Just remember to double check everything before cutting, looking forward to seeing it come to life. 1 Quote
Grendel_Blitz Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I was thinking about seeing if I could pick this kit up until seeing the amount of work needed. I fear that I would not be able to trim the thing to spec... ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/ Quote
Jules Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 Made a start on the dremelling today. Really enjoyed myself. I know it ll be a long job ...but I can take it!! Pics below..... Quote
Boba Leo Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Very good start !!!!!!!!! good luck Jules!!!!!!! Leo Quote
Grendel_Blitz Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Are there actual guide lines to cut/dremmel along (or are those drawn on)? If so, then I may be interested in picking one up. I am a connect-the-dots kinda guy. ~ G_B \m/ Quote
Jules Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Hi Matt I bought the lid with the markings already on. I dont know if LW marked them, or the guy who I bought it from. They seem pretty accurate though. It s a really good lid...I recommend it!! Jules Quote
Scarcasm Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I didn't mark it up Jules, LW did. Looking Good Quote
Jules Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Hi Rich Yes it is looking good actually!! Ha ha. Hope I dont muck it up! It s on hold now until Santa s been! Jules Quote
Grendel_Blitz Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 THX Jules. If LW gives me some dremmel lines, then I would have the confidence to do it myself. I have a resin recast of some unknown Scout bucket (could be an Altmann's recast but without having one to compare side-by-side, I am not certain) that I completely turned into a nice useable lid. Had to reshape with tons of wood filler, sand (repeat - repeat) and dremmel the heck out of it but it is turning out well. Thanks for the DL on the LW! \m/ 1 Quote
Jules Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Here's Phase 2 of my LW lid build. Let me know what you think guys!! Quote
