ChickMacGyver
Hi guys, My armour was just approved last week and I was wondering what I need to do more on my suit to gain Lancer status? I would appreciate your thoughts. Smiles, Izzy
Chex
I hate to say it, but based on the new Lancer guidelines, you'll prolly need new armor, as that looks like the old MG stuff, which I don't think would qualify for Lancer any longer. That said, the boot holster is all wrong. The TD has the vac formed greeblies on it which is a no no. I'd say the only thing you could really keep would be the knees and forearms. You need a one piece belt, your boxes have to come up a bit more as well. For your size, make the vertical stitches on the bund more narrow. Also, would need close ups of your snout, boot soles, etc. The only thing I can recommend is to say look at the new Lancer specs that Marcel and Andy just finished up with. With myself being a Lancer, there's things I need to upgrade as well.I hope all past Lancers do. Don't be discouraged though, just do what you can when you can. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.
lonewolf
First off, your kit looks great. Lancer is about every wee bit being as close as possible. My kit is way off the mark as well. Things I would change on your kit, Armour is not super accurate, back hump too small, TD vacformed greebs, boot holster wrong shape etc Drop box webbing is too long and not off white/beige chest and back connections need cut, bad angle at join, cloth connector piece too wide, and maybe should be off white/beige plastic belt too wide, needs cut down, three piece belt should be glued rather that riveted together vertical stitch lines on cummerbund too wide cummerbund too baggy at back, may be too wide and high slightly dirtied helmet needs a slightly dirtied armour to match side webbing at chest /back possibly not off white/beige and may not be in correct postition undersuit may be a bit baggy pouches should be off white/beige grey rectangle on chest is too light a grey and too large, even if the indent is too big grey helmet bolt is too small codpiece needs a bit more wadding to puff it out rather that a thin material, this will help it not bunch so much. Ok , none of this needs "fixing", your costume has obviously been well put together, your elastic strapping is more accurate than many lancers, you wear the cossy very well and I was being really really picky, any help please just ask. 4505Marcel
Firstly ive changed you to pathfinder as you are now cleared, welcome aboard. As said above there is quite a bit that would need to be altered and swapped to go for lancer, lots have been listed already for you to see. Unfortunately the armour you have is quite inaccurate in places, Lancer is all about being very close to what is seen on screen in parts and also the fit itself. That being said you wear what you have very well and the build itself is well put together. Lancer is not hard to get but you do need to have close armour to work with, now this is something that can be upgarded as you go and work towards while enjoying the costume. White pouches are acceptable, as is off white. No beige.
chimei
hi bud... congrats on getting cleared. i just my designation last friday. i'll also be adding lancer specs in the next few weeks. the one thing that i would add may only be a limitation of the pictures you took. i can't tell if there are any alterations to the heal of your boots. if not, you'll need to cut those in to be lancer (unless that is changing - but as they are clear in the screen caps, i can't imagine them changing). here is the link to my boot alterations. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8711 best of luck
ChickMacGyver
Thank you guys for your all your suggestions. Looks like I will be hunting for another set of armour and trying to apply your suggestions to that. Till then I will enjoy being a a Pathfinder. Thanks for clearing me Marcel.
