LoneWolf helmet build thread

Recommended Posts

I'm very excited as I've got great LW kit yesterday..I'm so looking forward to start working on that..

I've built 2 TK lids so far(CFO and MTK), this is going to be 1st TB one..so I will need any help available here..

right now I don't see major problems here, except painting because I never done that...but things could change very much along the way..LOL

I will do it with no rush and very patiently..I don't want to mess up this beauty.. :D

..and of course, WIP pics will come as the progress will go forward..

any comments and help would be very welcome :)

Thanks John!

here are 1st pics out of the box

LW helmet kit looks really good, can't get one at the moment due to lack of funds right now :(

but the painting of the helmet is the easy part

make sure the helmet has a good key before applying the undercoat spray, prep the helmet after each

primer base coat has dried with a light sand using wet & sand paper

also make sure all you seams i.e. joints have been sanded smooth and filled in with bondo

also when spraying the helmet put the spray can in hot water for a bit so that the paint inside becomes more fulid.

if any paint runs just let it run and dry and sand out the run marks

I also each paint layer 24hrs to fully dry (inside your home)due to the poor weather we have in the uk

if your masking any areas to show the helmet weathered i.e paint chips try and get some liquid laytex

masking fluid or which I seen people use toothpaste

if you want the tiny splatter paint marks load up a tooth brush and flick the paint on

also mist spray the helmet by shooting up the spary can upwards over the helmet and

let the paint fall back down onto the helmet surface

here's an example of misting i did on my blu ray terminator box set

I'm fortunate enought to grab one of these too - however the missus has snaffled it for christmas boooooooo!

Hrvoje I'll be watching carefully...especially with regards to the heat-gun work on the face plate & lens - heat guns terrify me!!!!

Well, I started today :) I forgot to eat

First thing that I've done was trimming to adapt the medial line, then connecting two halves with tape..after that remaining borders were finished(trimmed then sanded with 3 types of sandpaper)..
