i'm about to start work on my belt. i've seen several pics here that show the three SC belt sections connected with two rivets, and the whole thing attached to the belt-webbing with one rivet.

is it lancer acceptable to have two white rivets holding the sections together?

Hello Mark the original belts were one peice with webbing going from each end sercured by a single rivet to make the belt, at this point i'll surgest glueing the 3 SC belt peices instead of rivets with a good ABS weld to make one single belt section and then the single rivet for the wedding,and if you feel confident just add some heat (sometime a hot hairdyer is enough) just to bend the belt around your waits for a better fit,Also if you have plans for Lancer this might be a good time to change the nylon "Drop box" straps to cotton to save re-doing bits down the line :)

@scarcasm - hilarous

@cyberscout - already have the natural cotton strapping...i hear you about the E6000 to connect the pieces...though i thought rivets were stronger and permissable...though i like the gluing idea. thanks

Thay are but may not be forever so just starting you on the right foot :) try not to use E-6000,it's fantastic stuff for armor but for this you will need something a bit stronger,ABS weld will do the job clamp it over night sorted

Yes,I used ABS glue to hold the three pieces together, cut the gaps first to get a similar gap between the boxes as the originals. Overlap can be either way but I overlapped it front over back if you understand.

Cut a small amount off the back lip,checking the size of the original, and please use only one rivet in the middle to secure the nylon 2" belt to the plastic.

Any problems pm me.
