ESJoker
Anyone know a good source for a lightweight blaster? I currently own a KS blaster (made of a rubber-resin material), and even though I really like the feel of it in my hands and the detail is good, it is considerably heavy when placed in my boot holster. I have concerns about it eventually ripping the holster from the boot due to its heavy weight. So, as an alternative I'm looking for either a completed blaster or a kit blaster that is not so heavy, maybe made of foam or some other material than a heavy resin, that I could use for long troops or marches such as at SWW in Disney. Thanks!
TB-5027
Since I, too, own a KS blaster I share the same troubles. You can get any other resin cast blaster or buy the Kenner toy and modify it. That would be the least heavy prop you can find. Since I have no intention to buy another one of those tiny blasters I fixed up this strap system inside my boot. It's helping a LOT with keeping the holster up against my calf
Scarcasm
What about 'Niko's team' ones Steve? http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=5935
Darth Voorhees
Hyperfirm. Very lightweight, a lil pricey but well worth it.
SJBlythe
I'm not sure how much a KS pistol weighs, but I have one of Niko's and it is still pretty substantial. I haven't received my armor yet so I can't say what it will do to my boot, but based on how soft the vinyl is on the boot I'm expecting it to pull it down. Dart
I've got one of Niko's blasters. It's got some weight to it but I use a strap similar to Diana's AND I've got a loop of material on the inside of my leg to help hold it up. I also have a 6"x2" strip of velcro that helps keep things in place. The boot still droops a bit but that's just the way it is.
Jello
Not so sure about posting links to blaster sources, so I'll send a PM instead, erring on the side of caution. But I will say that it's lightweight, and nicely troopable!
chimei
i just got my TPE blaster kit and trimmed it down, sanded, etc. i'm trying to figure out if i'll apoxy it down or use real screws... as for the holster, i've seen some that have foam inside, others with velcro, and still others with a white strap (not canon). i will be putting a black strap inside the boot as diana and andry do. i may also put a second layer of vinyl on the right inside of the boot. this will also give it some support. ESJoker
Thanks Diana, that sounds like a great idea! I'm going to try the least expensive method to fix this problem and add a boot strap system for the inside of my boot. Since I, too, own a KS blaster I share the same troubles. You can get any other resin cast blaster or buy the Kenner toy and modify it. That would be the least heavy prop you can find.
