Heatshock
I used left over foam from work, but any soft-ish material is good to go measurements from here http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=1651 and plans here: Now remember, the measurements are only a guide, depending on you height and size, you may have to upscale or down scale the pouches to get the right look - go back to your source material! I cut the foam to shape then you apply the fabric cover. What you should be using is US multicam. I used beige here as I was experimenting now I glued the backs onto the foam, but the seams were all stitched. measure out the flap in a firmer material - I simply used cardboard re-cover with fabric again, stitch or glue - up to you. This is what it looked like complete I up-scaled my boxes slightly in the end, and this time covered the foam with correct multicam cloth remember the pouches need 'smudging' with misting of white, grey and black Nate
Guest Joey_G
Looks good. What do you use to keep the pouches closed? Velcro, buttons, what?

Death Recon
velcro, that way if you need to add anything you can dig some foam out and put whatever you need into the pouch without losing shape. ie. speakers or WHATEVER you can think of
CFLStarWarsDad
This is pretty awesome way to create this item. A few questions - are you using any stitching at all on the panels to better approximate an actual sewn pouch? What feedback have you received as the ability to "certify" or approve an armor set using this technique? Nicholas
Jakeputt
Does anyone have any patterns and instructioms to make real pouches that can be used?
ferra
The pics above are working again, (hurray photobucket?) I believe using those designs with the dimensions in the CRL you can have a seamstress do them pretty easily, here are the pics: ..and also an alternate route:

The little watermark in the corner is distracting but I think it should work fantastic
