elwyn5150
I thought I should create a new thread rather than inadvertently derail someone else's thread. I recently received my MLC v3 helmet kit. I've started working on it myself because I feel like I should work on my own helmet kit. (Last costume, I just purchased an EFX TK and modified it.) I want to try to aim for Lancer status eventually. Anyway, cutting and pasting from this thread (http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8521) to avoid derailing... Yesterday I painted the inside of the helmet black and replaced the wingnut and bolt. I should have come to the forums to read up on things before buying things from the hardware store. I bought some black grommets that fit over the bolt. They are too tall so I cut it in half and it sits *almost* flush when I place it over the bolt. I'd say it's 1 mm too tall. Fotr lancer staus the bolts need to be the 3M ones or similar I believe... I will have to chew the brains out of my greater knowledged scouts for that I'm afraid. I believe that its in the Lancer requirements page on here bud.. Happy hunting as they are quite hard to get hold of. The Lancer specification says: "Visor hinge bolt covers must be replaced with accurate, flat disc ones." http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=1364 Anyway, here's my actual questions: Is this okay? Is there a specific grey that I need to use?
303trooper
Found a thread where humbrol #5 is used as a grey over here. Some also mentioned grey primer.. Hope this helps?
Witness
Those are ok, need to be the same color grey as the plate on the snout.
303trooper
You mentioned humbrol #040 too. So as long as it all matches then it should be ok? Guess it's a trial and error situation dependent on the grey matching up to your snout plate but taking into consideration the decal shade...
