Wickedfluxx
Anyone know source for the Thermal Detonator greebes? I actually have a spare set that I'm not using if you need them. For SC armor, you'll need to trim them down a little, but it's definitely doable. I live in Upstate NY as well, near Albany, so shipping shouldn't be bad or I may even be able to drop them off depending on where in CT you live. I visit my brother now and then in Ridgefield, CT as well as family on my wife's side in Salem, CT.

Dam, I just sent the order in to MonCal I am looking for some suggestions on how to connect the tank to back armor. I want to approach from a Lancer point-of-view. What is the best way to do this? I did not see a WIP or tutorial on BSN, but then again I am search challanged at times.

I had the same question during my build . Here's the thread from that conversation, including Witness's response and nice take on mounting with 2 rivets and no epoxy. In the end, I went with epoxy for the top and the rivet that is needed on the bottom. The rivet that is required on the top is simply holding my tank topper on and that's it. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?show...;hl=attach+hump Let me know if you need some more clarification, but honestly either way is acceptable as long as you have the rivets on the top and bottom from a look standpoint. How much of a speration between the tank and back armor is needed? I would like to get it as close as I can, but don't want mess up the end goal. Here's a link to one of the reference pictures... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?auto...=si&img=374 I have the SC armor myself and I didn't do anything out of the ordinary for attaching the tank to the back armor in terms of gap spacing. It already does a good job of showing the gap out of the box, in my opinion.
BH-0938
The SC belt comes in 3 pieces...if I rivet them together, would that hurt getting a lancer rating? Attaching the web belt with just one rivet does not look sturdy, what about two vs. lancer?
elwyn5150
Vest - LSFU - Ordered I didn't realise a separate vest needs to be purchased. Could someone explain this?
Chex
Used the witness method for the tank. Easy peasy with a heat gun. The vest is required for lancer. Check the motm pics and lancer requirements. Kenyon, I might want those greeblies from ya.

Attaching the web belt with just one rivet does not look sturdy, what about two vs. lancer? I'm not a Lancer, yet, so I can't speak directly to what I have done and having it pass. I will say that, as Mike referenced, check the Lancer guidelines, keep to those and you'll be fine. Personally, I used 2 rivets (with washers) to connect each side of the 3 pieces of the belt together as well as 2 rivets (with washers) to connect each side of the webbing to the plastic sections of the belt. I then painted the rivets and washers white to blend into the belt's overall color. What will effect Lancer status is if you use the nylon webbing that comes with the standard SC kit or get some cotton webbing to replace the nylon. Cotton is needed for Lancer spec over nylon. Kenyon, I might want those greeblies from ya. No worries Mike, got them here if you need them .
Wickedfluxx
I didn't realise a separate vest needs to be purchased. Could someone explain this? It's in the Lancer requirements and is listed as follows... III. SOFT ARMOR 2. A black vest with padded, ribbed biceps worn over the under suit, but under the torso armor. LSFU makes these and are affectionately labeled as 'flak vests'.
Chex
Basically Kenyon covered it. I used white rivets for my sc belt. But yes, do use cotton webbing...I think it just looks better anyways then the nylon. But make sure your straps for your thigh/hip boxes match your puch color, as well as the strap that connects the back and chest armor on the sides. Maybe not enough trees in my diet I wonder if JoAnn's carries the webbing. Ooo I never asked LSFU what color she was using for the pouches. Maybe not enough trees in my diet I wonder if JoAnn's carries the webbing. Ooo I never asked LSFU what color she was using for the pouches. I used cotton for all of the webbing on my belt. Chex/Mike pointed me towards the following site for it because the JoAnn around my area didn't have any. Jontay http://store.jontay.com/webbing.aspx You'll want to go with either "Natural" or "White" for the color, which depends on your pouches. Shipping was fast and I went with both sizes that the nylon webbing from the SC kit came with. Mike, am I missing anything there?
BH-0938
... as well as the strap that connects the back and chest armor on the sides. Does this has to be elastic or can it be webbing? I am having a problem finding natural color elastic.

Wickedfluxx
Looking good, just paint the small circular area (to the right of the red lined horizontal bar) white and you're set.
chimei
waiting for my armor to arrive. so you ended up using apoxy where? 1) to secure the top of the tank to the back of the armor? 2) to secure the tank topper? 3) both?

Once the epoxy had cured, I drilled a hole for the rivit and put that through. Then I applied expoxy to the inside rim of the tank and placed on the back armor. I taped it down with about a whole roll of masking tape. P.S. I have been recovering from a shoulder injury, but I am back in full swing on the armor. Pics and updates to follow.
