Guest Moonrokk
Scouts....I'm overwhelmed with what I've been finding on the internet regarding welder's lenses. At this point, I dont even know what's sufficient. Anyone can point me in the right direction where to find good priced lenses, model #'s or have any extra material leftover? Thanks, ~Moonrokk
ukscout
hi chris try ebay or try a local car window tinting company
jabbasdead
yeah, I would try the window tinting places for scraps. Take you helmet in and they will probably give it to you for free since the toss bigger pieces than what we need for your lens. If you take you helmet, it is usually good for a few pictures and free scrap.

4505Marcel
I buy shade 5 welders head shield lenses the type used for gas welding where the lense covers your whole face and not just the sily rectangle, I can get about 3 lenses out of a piece and there usually about £5 ish

TB-5027
I have a cheap roll of window tinting film that I use for my cars so I plan on using some of it for my visor if it's not dark enough... I ordered a KS helmet, we shall see.

Darth Vorhees...I noticed the link was for a model "DG." There's also a model "C" for ony $1.97. Would you happen to know the difference between the two? Wickedfluxx
I went with this one, which was a bit more expensive than the others referenced here. I would probably go with another recommendation due to cost, but thought I would post regardless to give you an idea . It was a shade 5. http://www.criticaltool.com/willson-willso...s-11390068.html

CCBacara
So the scout lens is dark green, not black? Totally looks black in any photo I have seen, LOL.
Wickedfluxx
So the scout lens is dark green, not black? Totally looks black in any photo I have seen, LOL. Most are dark green, yes. The black effect is a combo of the lens shade as well as painting the inside of the helmet black so that your eyes don't show through. BLUERAM
ESB Fett and TD's are also dark green as well as others I think, they all appear black though. Another lens source is fastenal dg lens. Its lighter than a shade 5 but darker than a 3, it's great for low light events.
