Guest Paix Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Hello, I was lucky enough to get some armor parts from a fellow member for very cheep, they even went as far as casting me some extra parts for free (The parts that are black) I'm also not sure how to go about cleaning up some of the parts that I think need some trimming, does anyone have any ideas?
Guest Paix Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Ouch -.-, It's probably the best I'm going to be able to do for a while, and I dunno, I thought I would be able to use some of the parts, like the chest and the thigh box and tank topper. Or are they really that bad?
Chex Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 What Dan said. Looks like some badly trimmed Atin parts, which would explain why they were just given to you, and not sold to you. Honestly, save up for an SC kit and just junk those. Or save them for a project...but if you want a good looking scout, don't bother with those.
Guest Paix Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Why is it every time I try and get anything Scout related I get screwed. (You can't see it, but I'm banging my head on the desk.) Back to square one with 2 days before my birthday, mmmm, nothing to show for my scout armor but fail, yay.......
lonewolf Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Don't hurt yourself any more Logan, save up a few quid and buy one of the better kits.

Sounds a lot easier when I have no idea what the conversion rate is Yup, that's my plan I guess, who knows, maybe I'll get some major money for my birthday to help kick start it since I still don't have a real job. If anyone in the FL area needs some cheep manual labor, will work for nuts and bolts

Guest Paix Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 No, it's cool man, I understand, I was suspicious, and I thought they looks a little off, then I pulled up some pictures and kinda died a little inside, but it's fine, I got them for the cost of shipping. Right now I'm selling off my Bass and Electric Guitar, which all together can either get me some SC armor or a motorcycle, but not both. Now that I'm 18 (Errrr, will be in a few hours) I think a cheep vehicle that i don't need insurance on it the priority, so I'm going to buy a bike and get a job, then save some money and get that shiny white SC armor and KS helmet.
c0wboi Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Thats a very good idea. The job will provide the income to get the funds needed. This sure isn't an expensive hobby!! However, if LW ever sells some of his AWESOME lids, then I will be glad to sell you my KS on the cheap.
loosetoon Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Don't beat yourself up too bad. Many of us have done the same thing (I know I did.... this looks suspiciously like the first armor I bought off ebay before I knew what I was doing. And I'm sure I paid more than you did for the mistake.) Take your time, read through all the threads here relating to armor, look at the gallery for screen caps of the movie scouts. And ask questions! Good luck!
