I went to JoAnn's Fabric, but it seems to be very thin. Are there any good websites that I can purchase the fabric from? I think this would make a good solid boot, however I'm worried about working with this thickness. Has anyone tried to use something in this thickness, and will it work? I think this would make a good solid boot, however I'm worried about working with this thickness. Has anyone tried to use something in this thickness, and will it work? Thicker is better when making the barrel of the boot. That way, it'll help hold up the holster/blaster just by virtue of its thickness. You don't want the stretch vinyl since it's wayyyy too thin. i found thin and soso thin. the soso thin..i hear some people use 2 overlapping sheets to get the desired thickness. i found white leather that seems to be perfect. I live in Japan, i'm having a dandy of a time trying to find marine vinyl. Only stuff i can seem to find is vinyl leather or fake leather. Also, i found two boot types..i'll take pictures and post in the next day or two. I need opinions if they will work or not for the boots. PreFixx Protective Finish *Outstanding stain resistance and cleanability - most stains wash off easily with mild cleanser. *Abrasion Resistance - easily passes 400,000 cycles Wyzenbeek test using #8 cotton duck; easily passes 60,000 cycles Wyzenbeek using steel wire screen. *Resistant to common scuffing and burnishing. *Eliminates blocking and prevents premature aging. *Sulfide Stain Resistant *Urine Stain Resistant - Good to know when I run into some Ewoks! *Oil Resistant *Mildew Resistant *Superior Disinfectant Resistance-Superior resistance to staining by vinyl upholstery fabric germicides (including a one-in-ten solution of household bleach).
