Hi Everyone!

I'm ready to start making my boots, and I would like to find out where is the best place to buy the material.

I went to JoAnn's Fabric, but it seems to be very thin.

Are there any good websites that I can purchase the fabric from?

Thanks

Tracy

The stuff you want is marine vinyl. You don't want the stretch vinyl since it's wayyyy too thin.

I found some awesome marine vinyl. It is .050 in thickness, and it does not have much of a stretch to it.

I think this would make a good solid boot, however I'm worried about working with this thickness.

Has anyone tried to use something in this thickness, and will it work?

Thicker is better when making the barrel of the boot. That way, it'll help hold up the holster/blaster just by virtue of its thickness.

As for working it over the front of the boot, heat is your friend. :D

the soso thin..i hear some people use 2 overlapping sheets to get the desired thickness.

i found white leather that seems to be perfect.

I live in Japan, i'm having a dandy of a time trying to find marine vinyl.

Only stuff i can seem to find is vinyl leather or fake leather.

Also, i found two boot types..i'll take pictures and post in the next day or two. I need opinions if they will work or not for the boots.

Thank you

I found some really good marine vinyl- Gary's Upholstry (located in FL)

The o.a thickness is .050

The best part about it is the specs for this material- should hold up very well for a boot.
