ozarkscout Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I was in my local Napa Auto Parts / Welding Supply today and came across a "Fibre-Metal" headband that had an attached bag of mounting hardware that -appears- to be identical to the 3M Speedglas bolts. I didn't buy it, so I wasn't able to measure and compare the two, but these things look dead on. The headband with hardware is about $11-12 online, and I don't know if they sell the hardware separately, but my local Napa guy is checking into it; I'll post a part number if they do. Anyway, just thought I'd pass it on, because some folks are saying the gray 3M bolts are getting harder to find.
TB-7076 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Yes that's seems to be almost the same as the 3M set.
Dart Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I can tell ya right now that they're probably spot on. If you can get a part number, that'd be awesome.
Acrylikhan Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Those are indeed 3M bolts. I checked 'em out. GREAT FIND DUDE!!!!
lonewolf Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 This really is a great find, thanks, I hope there is somewhere close in the UK that stocks these.
Arcturus1020 Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I might have a source who works at 3M for these . . . I'm checking into it now.
c0wboi Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I've got a KS helmet shipping any day now. If we can get a part number, or even someone here who wants to sell a set, I'd be very happy.

chimei Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Thanks Lou... hi... I had PMd this to Leo, but figured i'd share. i got my 3M bolts from this website: www.weldingsupply.securesites.com search for item #04-0660-00 (9000 Mount Hardware) they were less than $4 USD once on the website, you can look for the headgear which comes with bolts - but check to make sure they are the right kind as some will come with black ones, etc. good luck!
Dart Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That's where I used to get the bolts when I did a few mass buys. Did you actually get the gray bolts or the black ones? I know they haven't changed the photo to show the black ones. Last I was told by them is that they only had the newer style; maybe that changed...
chimei Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I got grey, but only ordered the bolts. Some of the full headgear set ups are listed as having black bolts. Just figured folks should be sure to read description...better safe than sorry
Dart Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Hmm... that's good to know. I guess my info was incorrect... Thanks for the update.
