Damore
I'm almost finished with my costume, and all I really lack is completing my boots this weekend. I have been having one problem I can't seem to fix. The screw that goes in the bottom of the tank will not stay flat when I put the wing nut on. My armor is MC. Does anyone have ideas or advice on how to get it to stay flat? I will post more pictures of the whole costume this weekend so everyone can tell me what you think. I would like to say thank you to everyone that has posted pictures and given advice. All the different threads here have been a great help getting and constructing my costume. I have the SAME EXACT problem lol.... i managed to wiggle it around a bit and tighten it just enough to lay "mostly" flat so you can notice it but it was hard to get... if you find how to fix it shoot me a line oh and on your pin striping at the corner right before it makes the 90 degree turn.... i had the same issue with the pin stripe lifting upfixed that by just slicing into the middle of the "raise" and laying the parts flat on top of each other
F3RN
I couldn't maneuver mine to the point of being flat, so I just painted it white and this has worked well for me.
Guest Rogue Fett
Put a rubber washer on the other side, then put the nut over it. The washer needs to be a few mm thick, & be a little hard. The rubber should take the strain of the bolt trying to shift position. Or you could put a spring washer in place of the rubber, but the pressure might crack your armour. I'd go with the rubber idea first.
Damore
Thanks for the help. I will try a rubber washer, and fix the raise on my tank stripe. Here are some pics of everything put together. My cummerbund slipped down some, but I'm going to fix that problem with some velco in the next day or two. I'm also going to fix the grenade so it is straight. The boots are finished expect for cutting the heels. You can't see it very well, but I have the riding patches, thigh straps, and the mud flap all on my undersuit. Let me know what you think so far, and if you have any other comments. Thanks again for all your help.
Damore
Ok, so I got the issue with my cummerbund and grenade fixed. I sent in my application to the 501st yesterday. Let me know what you think about my costume and if you see anything that needs to be improved.
